It would be nice if Zip Products would offer us forum members a discount on this item. Maybe running a group purchase?

I was skeptical about putting such a large blockage in front of the main air inlet; however I have found it makes no significant difference on the highways, even on warm days. On the other hand, it helps to warm the oil quicker on cool/cold days.

For track days, it comes off.
Cheers,

But, you've got thousands of gray-heads, hurricanes, 100% humidity and bugs the size of Hondas - I'll take the front plate.

These are still Chevys engineered and built for the street, not NASCAR COTs or F1 Ferraris.

Thank you all. There's a few reasons why The Top Flight Reproductions Front License Plate Bracket is so popular here on this forum:

1. No adverse effect on cooling
2. Hands down the best looking solution available for the C6
3. Very easy to install
4. And we have them In Stock

I like that.. do you guys have IT work?

I haven't put a front license plate on any of my cars, I'm in NJ. I have had two tickets in the past 20 years for this. Once in my camaro, once my BMW was ticketed in a train station parking lot. The second one was a pain, mandatory court appearance where I had to dance around and tell the judge I was getting it installed. Of course, I didn't show up in the car missing the plate, and now I don't take the train from that town (because of the ticket, I take it in the next town down the line). I should move to a less authoritarian state than NJ... Even PA.

I'll never put a plate on the front of my Vette.

Top flight is the best IMO. looks great, easy to remove for shows, and very well made. You get what you pay for! /close thread

Ditto. WA is also a 2 plate state, and some of the LEOs look for front plates. So I use the Top Flight removable unit and it is excellent.

There is a bracket affixed to the car which the license plate (and backing plate) screws onto via 2 wing nuts.

So to remove the license plate, simply take off the wing nuts and the license & backing plate plate simply come off.

I have been very satisfied with this very well made unit.

Contact Jim @ Top Flight Reproductions if you have any questions. They very good folks to work with.

Default First ticket

Just got my first ticket for failure to display a front license plate

I ordered my Zip bracket tonight. Should've done it sooner!

I have the same thing - off and on in less than 5 seconds - can't even tell the bracket is there unless you are looking for it!

The video shows it on a base C6, does it also work on the Z06 (since this is a Z06 forum)?

Here is another option I found a few years ago, when I got a warning for no plate and a ticket for tinted windows... I purchased one and only installed it for the LEO inspection and it has not been on the car since. I had my windows re-tinted after the inspection. No drilling is required but I had to open up the bracket holes a bit to fit well.
