12 years of manufacturing Corvette induction systems. Over 12,000 systems sold.

Number of warranty denial claims, zero. Pretty good score card.

Same quality as the Pratt & Miller parts, since it is from the same source:

Better view of the Foward MAF tower designed to isolate the IAT from heat soak:

Jim,
What are the weights of the KB CF112, KB II and KB I? The carbon work looks really good. Any chance we could get them to make us some ultra light CF (not cosmetic but real race piece) lift off hoods that look similar to our stock hoods? You know, no bulges, scoops, vents, inner panels or mounting hardware. You know, something that looks pretty stock but around 4-5 pounds max. What do you think? Something to offset the weight loss in the rear for the Akrapovics.

Ours is a real race piece. The folks that make it for Halltech do the C6.RS body parts, GT1 Corvette Parts (past) and the new GT2 parts for Pratt and Miller and Corvette Racing. They also make all of Katech's carbon fiber splitters, etc.

This is not wet laid crap over fiberglass, it is the real deal with pre-impregnated-vacuum bagging/oven layups.

The differenct between the carbon fiber and plastic is very slight and not worth the discussion.

Jason, have you dyno'd the KBII on an LS3?

I suspect the comment concerning warranty denial has to do with any changes to calibration (which I understand from your website and various threads here is required for the CF112 version). There have been a number of comments on the forum concerning GM's policy reference reprogramming of the factory tune being automatic grounds for denial of engine warranty claims. If there is some clarification or explanation that you could put forth, I'm certainly not alone in being very interested to hear it.

He's saying that he's never had a warranty claim denied for simply an intake. A tune could potentially void warranty.

Yep. The Killer Bee II is a no tune necessary intake, built that way. It is our Ultimate Street CAI. The Super Bee CF112 intake is a custom built MAF forward induction system for the racers that are installing the larger throttle body and LSXR, which will void the warranty anyway. Since it's CAD design was made to compliment the other intake mods, we new that tuning would be required anyway with the larger TB and LSXR.

So from the onset of its development, we went for the ultimate intake, and have an SCT X3 Handheld tuner for those that track their cars.

The Super Bee CF112, with mild tuning to the MAF code puts +33 RWHP to the tires, which makes the track tune pretty tempting. The SCT X3 keeps the stock tune on the ready, so when you decide to reinstall the stock setup you can reflash back to stock.

To Halltech or Katech:

I have seen graph comparisons swapping intakes on the LS7. It would be helpful to see graph comparisons swapping intakes on a stock LS3. Also, the A/F ratio showing the affects of the swap. LS3's are known to run rich at WOT. It would be interesting to see how the ECM will adjust to the changes in intakes.

BTW: I have the original KB and Beehive Shroud with the two open shroud ports for cold air. The KB is a quality product and easy install!

No, these tests were done on the engine dyno. The air box was just out in the air.

What's the reason for not making the plastic version with the MAF forward design?

I know I'm bringing this thread back from the way dead. But I cannot see the Dyno graphs in the first post and was wondering if anyone could repost them?

Chances are, the actual dynos might be long gone, but I will look. I know the CF112 added =15 HP

I will keep digging. I can tell you that our intake was the standard bearer for many years at Katech, and many other high end performance shops. They still are.
