Default ZR1 Aluminum Frame Pics - Barrett-Jackson

I took these shots yesterday at Barrett-Jackson in West Palm Beach. I believe that the frame of the ZR1 is the same as the Z06. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Nice pics. I believe the ZR1 frame has more steel than the Z06 frame and is heavier.

Uh, I thought the ZR1 frame WAS steel , essentially the same as the base car, while the Z06 was aluminum ( to save weight ).

The ZR1 frame is definitely aluminium like the Z06, although it might have more steel parts vs the Z06, but it's the first time ever I'm hearing this.

From the National Corvette Museum Spec Section

The ZR1 is built on the same aluminum-intensive chassis as the Corvette Z06 and features similar independent SLA front and rear suspensions, with aluminum upper and lower control arms. Where the ZR1 differs is the suspension tuning, which was optimized for the car's steamroller-wide front and rear tires.

You're right, it's the same frame. This is the same display piece GM's been using since the NAIAS in 2008, when they officially introduced the ZR1. They had it standing on end at the car show; very interesting way to do the display.

if you look at build codes for zr1 you will see that it starts with z06 and adds the zr1 engine/driveline, mag suspension, brakes...
