Muffler outlets are 2.5", main inlet is 3" secondary inlet is 2.5".

While I haven't taken a real close look, I imagine you could cut the tips off the stock mufflers and put them on the Akrapovic system. Hopefully I'll have some carbon tips in a couple weeks, at which point John can post some new pictures, maybe they'll provide a better perspective.

Sometimes a picture doesn't do justice, like I hate the look of an Enzo, but when I see one in person I can't said that. I think something may be going on here with the perspective in the pictures because I swear it don't look bad in person. For example, the band clamp at the collector is actually considerably wider than it looks in these pictures.

Regardless, cartoon looking tips is a very good reason to not have to spend the money on this system, so whatever works for you is great.

BTW gerbie28, I'm in Ottawa, as is John, kinda far from Brampton but if you're ever in the neighborhood I'd be happy to take you for a ride. Be forewarned though, I know if I'd actually heard this system first (driving, not idle videos) I wouldn't have hesitated to spend the stupid amount of money it costs

Cheers, Paul.

Those tips just look ridiculous. 5" is beyond overkill. Other than that it looks like a quality piece, but I would hope so for 4 grand.

Nice exhaust but like most have said, the tips look horrible....loose them and get something in the 4" range.

Zeshawn, if you take a close look at the pics you'll see the tips are clamped on (unlike the stock tips which are welded on), so swapping to the Carbon tips will be a very simple matter.

Wow with regard to the tips we've gone from: "too big" to "cartoon" to "ridiculous" to "horrible", what's next? Wonder if Akrapovic will take any of this seriously, I know I don't

Cheers, Paul.

The tips look like trumpets coming out the back. I'd like to see what the carbon tips look like on the car though.

I like it a lot. I'd probably opt to do the CF tip. At your convenience, would you post some video for us to hear the sound both idle, cruise & WOT. TIA

Any changes have to be made to make the exhaust valves work? Or do they just use the stock plumbing and wiring?

In a previous post I mentioned that I didn't think they look so big in person and that possibly the 'persepctive' on my pictures wasn't helping...and if you go to the thread about Jim's car
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ra-wheels.html
you don't see a single solitary comment about the big tips (well except for mine)...go figure, they're exactly the same tips

There's absolutely nothing in it for me to post anything, which is why I've never posted pics of my car before, but if John (@ SpeedMerchants) wishes to post more pics of my car with the carbon tips he free to do so, in fact it was he who started this tread.

As for the flaps, I simply removed the actuators from the stock mufflers (3 small nuts each), installed them on the Akrapovics and then plugged in the vacume lines...couldn't be simpler and works like stock.

Cheers, Paul.

I like the 5 inch tips but what I don't like is that the tips stick out from the diffuser. Almost all other after market cat back do the same thing. All of this system would look better if the tips would be flush with the diffuser like the stock tips.

This some sort of Russian exhaust company or something? How does this exhaust compare with the Titanium exhaust that came from the factory on the C5 Z06?

Akrapovic is an exhaust company located in Slovenia that has been very successful in motorcycle exhaust and is very well regarded amongst motorcyclists.

I can't compare it to a C5 exhaust, but all of their pieces are of the highest quality for fit and finish.

They need to tuck farther forward on the car, and I'm going to give a +1 on too big. I'd be curious to see if they'll do an anodized titanium tip option. Although... I can't justify spending that much when I can build a shortblock for that.

Tips do need to be tuck in more. Also, any plans to make some videos of interior noise? Or even some of the exterior sound ( don"t entirely trust the video the company put out).
