Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 RunOnFlat
I'm not sure how long this new generation tire has been available, but just checked with Tire Rack.com today and they are now selling them at $506 each for the rear and $443 for the fronts.
I'm curious to know if anyone has put them on and if it is worth the roughly $70+ for the rears and $170+ (WTF?) for the fronts cost difference with the first generation F1

Hopefully they are much better.

If you got the latest Car and Driver, this tire on the GS increases grip from .98G to 1.01G and they raved how well these tires performed all around. These tires are definitely worth the price premium of the 1st gen F1's. I'm more curious as to how they match up to the PS2's.

Well, the ZP's are about 100 bucks more than these... I'm buying tires soon and I'm on the fence between these and the Potenza's RFT's. The RFT's are significantly cheaper but if what they say is true about these tires, they might just be the ticket.

After reading some reviews, I am going for the new Goodyears. I need some tires bad and this won't be last set I get. Currently have 43,000 miles, all on 5 sets of goodyear emt's. Hopefully I can get some on by friday. I will let you know what I think. Never tracked car, use as daily drive, but I push car every second I can.

Here is a recent thread regarding the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2

You can go directly to the test results here, but it appears this is likely the one you read:

Sounds like a great tire to me Pricey though

I put these Gen 2's on after my gen 1's were worn out. Awesome grip on the road and the track. The only negative is the skipping during a sharp U-turn. It is way more pronounced than in the gen 1's.
After these wore out I put on Michelin PS2 in viper size (295 fronts 345 rears). Love these tires.

I just replaced the fronts and the insides were through to the cords even though the wear indicators in the center weren't up yet. And after looking at the wear when the factory set of fronts came off the car we aligned the car and dropped the camber to -0.9°. I ran one set of Goodyear G1's after the alignment and had good tire wear on them.
I now (after a 2 month wait for them to be manufactured) have PS2 ZP. As with the Goodyear G1, they do not scrub on tight turns.

Worst tires in the world have "Goodyear" written all over them. Went to Michelin and WILL NEVER go back to Goodyears……Neither will GM, apparently.

I thought G2 handled better than the G1 but from day one they scrubbed badly anytime the steering wheel was near the lock.

If you haven't tried them, it's hard to imagine how much better the Michelin (or any other tire) is than the Goodyear Super Car (any generation). I tried my first set of Michelins by accident as the Goodyears were on back order. I will never go back.
Ride quality, handling, noise, and tread wear are all greatly improved.

Talk about bringing a thread back to life...4.5 yrs old. I believe the word is out that Goodyears suck...and that applies to any generation.

The rears were left -0.8°, right -0.6° and were set to -0.5°.
Something I immediately felt was changing the rear total toe from 0.00" to 0.04". That made the car not feel like the rear end was moving around under heavy acceleration.

G1 or G2
How do I determine if there are G1 or G2 on my Z?
Bought my 2009 last summer with Cup Wheels and Goodyear Eagle F1's but I don't know how to determine the G1 or G2 tire difference. The tread looks like the Tire Rack G2 currently for sale, was there a different tread on the G1's?
