Default Dyno tuned the Z06 today

I changed out the SLP intake to a K&N because I believed the K&N was a better design and I was right. Old number was 487whp with the K&N it made 493whp peak but saw 12 to 15 hp gain lower in the rev range and it made more hp and tq through out the whole curve. The car also has a corsa exhaust FYI.

493 with just an intake is pretty strong....hope those exhaust valves hold up to it.

Is that 493 SAE-corrected, 493 standard-corrected or 493 uncorrected?

493 SAE, stock with an exhaust, air intake kit and a tune is pretty good.

It's hard to tell from the image...what kind of dyno is that?

Also, the Corsa...has an X-pipe, right?

What are you using for cats?

Lastly, what kind of fuel were you running?

I made 490 but had ported intake and ported heads, MF103 on a Mustang dyno. Also 91 pump gas.

I'm surprised you didn't make more power and why didn't you do a cam while you where there?

My track buddies who have done the same mods are at 500 rwhp on a dyno jet. Mine was on the CMS Mustang dyno and it is know to be stingy. I was told by Ryne Cunningham that its 4% lower than the dyno down the street from him. On the track my car seems to perform equally to the other cars.

I didn't do a cam because that would put me in a higher class in our local Corvette Challenge competition. I was able to do the head porting and intake porting with a tune and remain in the same class.
