I love that exhaust! When you said work of art, that was exactly my thinking. If the car exhaust is anything like there motorcycle products, it should be amazing.

I looked at your profile and your car is pretty well modded. How do you think that effects the drone? I was considering a new exhaust and these would probably be my first choice if I were to do it. I just dont want the drone and that has been a big hold up for me. I like the option of being able to open the exhaust up with the push of a button but also like having it kind of quiet when I want it to be.

1st, thanks again all for the comments!

slief: Yeah, I'm pretty well modded, lol. I'm sure it has some effect on drone, I am not running cats so that may increase it a bit.

Now, the drone is not all that bad. I only notice it in the lower rpm range: 1500-1750'sh. After that you drive right through it. And to be honest, I don't spend a whole lot of time in those ranges anyway.

I too like the choice a bimodal exhaust offers: quiet/loud when you want it. Almost the best of both worlds.

This exhaust system is of such high quality, I almost wanted to display it on my garage wall prior to installing it! It is a very, very nice system.

So far, I am giving it my thumbs up!

You can see the rear bumper near the license plate "quiver" from the acoustics of this system. I've NEVER seen that before.

Dam that's badazz

I really wish these didn't come with those Hot Wheels size tips. I'd almost be temped to run them without tips. My stock mufflers are rattling around inside like a trash can now so I'm trying to decide what I want to do next but do not want drone.

They look pretty cool w/o the tips too! I thought of running around with them off once in a while for a change.

Good to hear to like the system!!

I agree with you....the Akrapovic system is honestly such a work of art you feel guilty putting it under your car!

Thanks for the nice writeup.....

If anyone else want a similar system, we have them ready to ship right here...

More info on each system and a video at the below links.

Akrapovic Corvette Titanium EVO Exhaust

Akrapovic Corvette Titanium Slip on Exhaust

and they also make a Stainless steel version....

It looks good on Nasty's car. (black on black), but the silver tips might look too large.

Thanks!

That is exactly what I thought and the reason I went with the CF tips. They are big. 4.9" each. Takes some time to get used to them, but from the time I "debuted" them @ my local cruise in, I was getting nothing but positive remarks about the tips.

I am very happy with this system! Southern Car Parts gave top notch customer service, the best price I could find, and fast shipping. Thanks Jim!

I can help with this....

The EVO system is a full catback with X Pipe...the Slip on system is an Axleback without the X pipe....

Thanks,

Jim

Looks Amazing!
So the difference in drone between a BeB bullet and this Akrapovic is huge?
I'm thinking to change mine...what do you suggest?

Car is HOT!!

Tips are too large IMO and stick out too far, looks out of place. And what is the deal with having to take off your OEM parts basicaly making your stock set worthless. I think I will mod mine or get the 2011set .

Die hard: I had 'modded' factory cans on mine before I switched to the Akra system. (bullets before that) I like the Akra sound/look much better, but everyone's taste is not the same.

C6gone: Thanks! Yeah, I was concerned about the size of the tips too, but I really like them. I guess they grew on me! lol! As far as the tip placement, I may be able to tweak them a little to get them in a little further, but that is not high up on my priority list now---they really look better in person than the pics.

I will sell my modded factory exhaust soon...

Nasty: Thanks a lot for the info! and should you tell me about the drone?akrapovic drone is less in your opinion than the bullet one?The drone in the BeB bullet is too annoying for me and I really like loud exhaust,I'm thinking to switch the exhaust but I want to be sure that the drone with valves closed is a lot less...just for not waste other money

Thanks one more time for sharing your experience with us;-)

Looks good

How does this exhaust compare to a Corsa Exhaust in terms of weight savings? I would imagine the Corsa is as light (Not sure)... does anyone know?
