Norris Motorsports VMax CNC 2005-2011 Throttle Bodies Available - $149 Shipped
Hey All,
I wanted to bump this back to the top and as an FYI, the free shipping offer expired some time ago, but I wanted to bring this thread back up for everyone.
It has been about three years since Pete from Vmax and I introduced our CNC'd factory throttle bodies and the response was and still is great. Close to a year ago or so we also added the 2009 and up TB's in a full CNC version. This took a lot longer then expected, but well worth the wait.
For alot more info you can check out the original thread here in the C6 Tech forum. Here is that link for folks:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...9-shipped.html
The pricing is $149 plus $15 S&H and the refundable core fee. For the 2005-2008 versions, the core fee is $400 and for the 2009-2011 versions, the core fee is $200 for now. This VMax CNC TB is the factory 90mm unit used on all LS2, LS3 and LS7 engines. We also have a CNC version of the ZR1 TB's for those folks that runs $200 plus a $300 refundable core fee.
Please feel free to contact me here via PM or email me at thevettedr@aol.com and I will answer you ASAP.

If I installed one of these on my stock 09 Z06, would I require a tune? What kind of HP increase could I expect?

Sorry about the bad link and it is fixed now
All of the info you are looking for is in that thread, but I can post some simple answers here.
JoesC5, on a bone stock Z06, it should install no problem with no tuning and yield 9-12HP and a noticeble increase in throttle response.
U.M., the same would be for you but without knowing what engine you have I do not know what HP gains you can expect.
Quite a few C6 owners have also mentioned that they had gained 1 to 1.5 more MPG's, but I have yet to test for that. This could be a result of the spiral cutting that was achieved.
Hope this helps and thanks.

How well would this match up with either a ported stock intake or FAST intake. I would think that they would work together to produce a bit more power that with the totally stock intake and this unit. Any experience with this?

If at all possible I would get a ported "set" of an intake and a TB to be sure what you are buying is compatible. Of course if you already have a ported intake, going ahead and getting a ported set may not be in the budget.
Hope this helps and just let me know. Thanks.

Melting Slicks
I have a question, and I hope it doesnt come across as bashing this product AT ALL. Mike Norris is awesome at what he does....but
How can this possibly compare (power, driveability, etc) to throttle bodies which are 3-4 times as expensive - in particular the NW TB's.....
thanks.

Nolyaw,
That is 9-12 HP at the tire on an otherwise stock and untuned C6 Z06.
Geared,
No problem and a great question. I do not generally see anyone buying an NW TB, which is an excellent product, to just replace a stock TB. Usually the NW comes into play when you are going to a larger intake and than the factory size and a larger TB is needed. This would be a C5 going to a 90mm or 92mm setup or a C6 going to a 102mm setup as examples.
Now one thing we have seen is that folks going to 102mm intakes will, in most cases, not have an aggressive enough combination to utilize a 102mm TB. We have found that a 102mm intake equipped LS engine will work better as far as driveability and throttle response and equal HP when using a VMax CNC TB and velocity ring versus a 102mm TB.
Hope this helps and thanks for the kind words.

I can vouch for a Stock 09 with this.
I Got my throttle body ported by Pete through D Revolution Motorsports here in Davie.
Throttle response is easily noticeable. My car is not tuned, just a KB and Beehive. Best $150 I have spent on the Z.

Just received my TB from Vmax today. Pete does quality work, installed, torqued the bolts, ran the car up to temp, ran great, no idle issues. Instructions said could have changing of RPM at idle for a bit, but with late model, shouln't have. Very happy!

Just a bump for folks as there were some shipping fee changes as well as some core fee changes that needed to be made. All of this info is is the first post for folks.
Thanks for the years of support and have a great day.
