Thanks Mike. I am glad to see your positive attitude about it. I lost a lot on my last vette in depreciation when the marlet dropped. It is just bad times right now, so values are very low. So this makes a good reason to keep yours and enjoy it, at least till the market recovers.

I should know. I have been in the car business since 1997 at our family's chevy store. It's a sad but harsh reality of purchasing a vehicle. And I agree with the comments on the incentives on the 2010 models. With 0% and 2010 models still out there, it puts a strain on a dealer who now has to chop away at the MSRP of the 2011 to make it attractive, otherwise they will be in the same boat next year with 2011s collecting dust as the 2012 models roll out. That of course just makes matters worse for someone like yourself with a Used 2011. :
Glad your grandson loves it! He has good taste!

Wow.......That's a $21,000 discount on a 2011 ZR1!!! Wish the dealers in Texas would get that aggressive. Congrats on the awesome deal.

It amazes me just how many people are purchasing ZR-1s and looking to sell in less than 1 or 2 years ownership. Must be impulsive purchasing, the fastest baddest production vette to date then the thrill wears off, or reality of the expense sets in.
Its all about numbers, or percentages, drive new off the dealer lot and your looking at an immediate 10-15% value lost. Add a global recession and the limited number of people who can or will spend $85k + on a used sports car. To me while the ZR-1 is most impressive, it just isn't worth the price new $110,000 min tax included. Unless you purchase with the vision to keep it for 5 years+ and truly enjoy the car. Sure its a great value for the performance versus a comparable performance Porsche, Ferrari, or Lambo but if your plans are short term ownership, prepare to lose you **** off. There are 2009 ZR-1s with < 25k miles going for $85-95k with 3+ years remaining on the drivetrain warranty.
Way better value, buy a new or 1 year old GS and have the Edelbrock supercharger kit, meth injection, headers/full exhaust and ZR-1 clutch installed for approx $12-14k tops and equal or surpass ZR-1 straight line performance. Even a better formula on a base C6/LS3.

I find it hard to believe that Texas is any different than anywhere else. Sometimes you just have to walk in and throw your checkbook on the table and make sure they know you are serious. I know a guy who is a great negotiator that can probably help

And several people who can help inspect for flaws prior to purchase and then detail.

There's some pics of my RHD 2009 CGM C6ZR1 along with my RHD 1993 40th Anniversary C4 ZR-1 on "My Garage" here on my CF profile fyi
My 2009 CGM C6ZR1 cost $263,000AUS by the time I drove it home in March 2010 after it's RHD conversion was completed. My RHD 1993 Ruby Red C4ZR-1 cost me $150,000AUS back in May 2001.
It's just the price we aussies have to pay to play with Corvettes downunder, mainly due to exchange rates, Taxes and Import duties that change over time.
Our aussie dollar was only buying $0.76US when I bought my C6ZR1 in May 2009.It arrived in Oz in July'09, the RHD conversion started October'09 and was completed February'10. The RHD re-engineering for the C6ZR1 costs $55,000AUS.
If I bought a new 2011 C6ZR1 now with our aussie dollar buying $1.01US+/-, it would end up costing around $240,000AUS once the RHD conversion is completed with the car ready to drive home.

dvandentop, yes this was the Ohio CRM C6ZR1. My friend who bought this ZR1, wasn't financial enough to buy direct from the owner when he advertised here on CF. One week can make a hell of a difference,eh

ZR1's are meant to be owned (and driven), not sold
