Default Best Cam Results on Stock LS7 With Intake & Headers.

Hey Guys,

I hear rumors of stock LS7 bolting on a set of American Racing or Kooks with Vararam & Cam pushing upward of 550+ rwhp.

Can you post some dynos and you modification list to back that up ?

I have LG headers 1 3/4" w/ high flow cats, Stic it Performance CAI, and a Black Mamba cam from QM and make 545rwhp/505rwtq. Car ran a 10.69@132.7 last weekend with the stock clutch and Nitto NT05R drag radials. Car was tuned by Carlos at QM in Dallas. Getting ready to get the heads done next.

I bet you can make considerably more if you really want to. A max effort bolt on car could be/is in the 540-ish range.

There are several vendors that can get you where you want to go. We have several cams that will get you to over 550rwhp. Our Lethal Cam will get you close, it will normally dyno around 535-545rwhp on most cars. To hit 550 you could go with our Punisher cam, it will hit close to 560 rwhp.

Here is a graph of one our Stage 3 Punisher Cam.

Can you post some dyno results from the Lethal cam. I really like to see the two on the same dyno sheet for comparison.

Here is a sheet of mine. First run was literally cam and cold air intake only. Second run was the addition of long tubes only with a re-tune.

The current setup made 554/510 SAE. Mods are .238/.248, .610/.620 112+2 cam, ARH Long Tubes, K&N cold air and a tune, stock LS7 manifold and ZR1 mufflers. Heads are bone stock.

With literally a cam only the car made 518/462. That was with the stock air filter and completley stock exhaust from the engine back.

Since dyno numbers do not mean a thing, the car has ran 10.59 @ 134 MPH on Drag Radials.

There are some bolton and cam guys just killing it out there. I will let them chime in but it is getting better and better. This year should prove to be a pretty serious advance in corvette drag racing. I am not a drag buy but I enjoy seeing guys push the envelope. RobZ/Gary/&crew, RatttG, sebast19x, Jamie, Ranger, etc. The one thing I really love is the camaraderie. Pretty much everyone is willing to lend a helping hand. I think it is a pretty sweet gesture that guys are willing to help a fellow vette owner.

Those are some nice times Richie. your car may be one of the meanest sounding Z06 out there

RobZ, i might have to let you take my car down this year if you promise not to break anything

I picked up over 45 lbft around 4,500 rpm with a peak of 32 lbft. That was literally just the addition of headers and optimizing the tune.

Congrats Evilness...

Wow, at 3K RPM's you already making about 480RWTQ

I know you mentioned that you guys are still playing with the tune but if you like, have your tuner give me a call or send me a copy of your tune, I think I can clean up the bottom a little more and perhaps carry it through the curve and thus get you a little more torque and possibly more power as well.

The heat and elevation in AZ is not great for big power but lets see what our combined efforts can get us...I'm game!

Thanks,
Carlos
