I think they look great, but my stock lip has been torn up after a few years. Because it is abs plastic and black all the way through, just file it down, put on some tire shine and it looks new again. I imagine things are not that simple with the carbon splitters. I can see it being VERY annoying looking at chips, scratches and scrapes in the carbon on an otherwise perfect car (not black all the way through).
Anyone have any stories or better yet pics of your splitters after a year or two?
I know they are popular, but I'd rather not lay out $600+ to have damage in 6 months that becomes an isore on the car and I am not replacing the thing every year at that cost.

get a fiberglass one IHMO and paint it black, i had a katech one, had it on a week and it got funked up cracked to all hell, i thought i was careful enough . had a apr before that and it is fiberglassed based with a carbon overlay alot more rigid.

Yeah but fiberglass will do the sam thing (white underneath). Wish someone made one out of ABS plastic like the OEM. That way it holds the black color throughout even if it gets scraped.

Just lay down a clear bra or helicopter tape over it on track. We did a clear bra on Lou's ZR1 when you saw it there at Watkins last.

Actually I am not worried about the track (can cover it up like you said), it's going up and down driveways and inclines on public roads parking lots that I am worried about.

I've been pondering this myself. I like the ZR1 splitter look, but don't want to shell out a grand every time I hit a speed bump or drive way water gutter. I was wondering if there was such as thing as training wheels that might be available for these things. Any small roller about 1" in diameter might just be enough for splitters that have the flat bottom.
