Burned Oil Smell Part 2
Responding to those that posted on my earlier thread (closed today--so couldn't respond there):
I took my ZR1 to Purifoy Chevrolet (great dealer, Corvette specialists)this last weekend and the car was checked thoroughly--dry as a bone on all fittings, oils pan, transaxle, etc.--no leaks whatsoever. (I got under the car with them when on the lift). They mentioned a couple of possibilities--factory sticker on catalytic convertor possibly burning off a bit and also mentioned that pcv valve purges in the area underneath of the dry sump fill tank on the passenger side of the car (which is where the smell seemed to be originating). They checked pcv--functioning fine. I am at about 700 miles on the car and I think it is getting better. My primary concern was to ensure the car had no leaks--so I am going to just monitor. Smell is very mild and I think it is going away slowly.

Melting Slicks
I have noticed the same but very faint and residual smell disappears very quickly. I have looked for leaks (under the car) and nothing. Further, my dealer installed the Akropovic Titanium and they nver mentioned a leak (and they certainly would). Not sure where it originates - I am just undr 2500 miles.
