Default Corsa's...headers....zero drone

I've read some posts lately about Corsa mufflers and drone with headers and x-pipes and thought it might be good to throw my experience on the heap.

So....with Kooks headers and catted x-pipe on a bolt on car there is absolutely no drone and just an awesome exhaust note. I know Corsa offers a couple different kits so this applies to part number 14164. Give me a couple days and I'll try and get some go-pro video off the back bumper

I love Corsa also and they give no drone on my modded 05' coupe. The only downside with the Z is that they don't save nearly as much weight compared to some other systems for the Z.

Very true.

I was running a set of ZR1 mufflers and got tired of the inner pipes always turning black.....I always ran with the flaps open. (hated the flap closed exhaust note). Honestly...the Corsas sound better

First I couldn't see a factory 3" system, going into 2 1/2" mufflers. Didn't make sense. I always kept the fuse out, flaps open all the time, and it did drone. Not to mention, exhaust only coming out one side. So I went to Corsa. Lost a couple of pounds, gained a few ponies, and NO DRONE. What more could I ask for? Can I say, love them?

I miss my corsas now. Switched from corsa to borla and i loved the sound but i added AR headers w/ catless xpipe and it's so loud. I redlined 3rd for first time yesterday with the new setup and when shifting to 4th my ears popped lol

corsa wont be any quieter, in fact it may be louder AT WOT, just in a different higher pitched sound.

cruising around shes prety quiet

its perfect sound/pitch under all loads with my setup

It truly is the best balance between quiet cruising and Winston cup full throttle lol.....

Really happy with the gurgle on let off and downshifts.

I have the Corsa and love it. Best Exhaust out there in my opinion for the reasons described above.

Since the early C5 days, Corsas have always been my choice. Best overall exhaust given the noise at wot and no drone at cruise.

I've tried telling this to ppl here on this forum over and over again, and none of them want to believe it!

Heads/Cam... American Racing headers with Catless X pipe... ZERO drone in any RPM with my Corsas... With my B&B Bullets on the car, I'd want to drive off the road into the trees because the drone was so terrible!!! Haha

Agree with all others on here. Second z06 Ive owned with Corsas, headers, and everything else. Even with my cam in this one, it is nice and drone free inside. Only at idle and under load does it make noise, but those 2 particular times I am ok with it. Well worth the money!

Are the tips welded or do you have to install them with their compression clamps? If you have to use the clamps, can you see the inner pipe or the clamps? I have Corsa on my truck and hate the way the tips look. They look like trumpets stuck on the tail pipe.

Sorry. Corsa kits typically come with the tips separated. You have to install them onto the tail pipe. I just wanted to verify that they are actually welded onto the muffler outlet pipes and not installed with clamps.

"tips" are part of the muffler....not a seperate piece. IRRC, the exhaust is made of of 3 parts that attach via comp clamps.

x pipe (attached to header via flange similar to stock) attaches to "over axle" pipe with compression clamp which in turns attaches to the mufflers with a comp clamp.

This is only what I remember from the install which was a year ago

Thanks! - perfect.

So you guys with this exhaust, headers, cam, etc....how much of a bark does it have when you first start it in the morning? I've got to find something that's a bit more 'neighbor friendly' in the mornings than what I have now (modified stock mufflers).

modified mufflers sound like a choir boy compared to this setup.....so corsas + headers are not for you, I can assure you that...unless you move neighborhoods, or stop caring about what the neighbors think.

my neighbor has a loud dog, I have a loud car
my other neighbor has obnoxious kids, I have an obnoxious car
