I was under the impression that this was a, 'drop your car off and come back later when it's ALL done', (ie. includes the re. and re.) type of deal...if so it's a WAY different deal than, 'I can get the parts cheap, do all the work myself', and then compare my total cost to yours

I think you misread the post. Breecher_7 was saying that he could build the engine himself cheaper and comparing that to the cost of this turn-key package from Katech. Either that or you're simply agreeing with my point. I couldn't tell by the way you worded it.
There is your problem. You're comparing buying parts for an engine and building it yourself to having your engine built by a race shop.
Thats why I asked for a parts break down to see how good of a deal this package actually is... People do like to know what there paying for and how much of it is going to labor.
