Default Spring Mountain ZR1 School - First Rate

I attended the ZR1 School at Spring Mountain this Past Monday, Tuesday. and did the 3rd Day Wednesday. It was Totally Awesome.
The Facilities are World Class and The Instructors and Staff are very Professional, Courteous and Friendly. They go above and beyond the call of duty. Anyone who Thinks they are a Good Driver will surely find out how much they do and don't know about their skills and will also find out the ZR1 is an awesome machine. I was surprised as well at the Grandsport. Corvette has done a Great Job with its entire line up.
I would highly recommend if you are thinking about attending a Driver Performance/Training school that Spring Mountain would be a First Choice. The head instructor Rick is a Master at his Trade and has alot of energy as well as paitence when teaching. All of the instructors are terrific and they not just show you how its done they tell you the reasons why you should do certain things on the track. The mechanics of driving fast is just not with the right foot. The saying sometimes you hear that you slow down to go faster is true. Balance of the car around the whole track is key and it is explained very well. I could write alot more about the time I had at Spring Mountain but I just wanted to briefly say that it was some of the best times I have had.

I share your assessment in all regards. Congratulations on your ride, you'll be able to enjoy it a lot more now that you were demonstrated what it can really do.

The Spring Mountain experience is unforgettable.

Calvin, who else is going from COCH? I was going to try to do on the same weekend as Gary - can't do it. My October has too many other family things happening that I can't beg out of. I'm trying to go in November.

Texas,
You will not regret it! Count on being nervous like everyone else.....one guy admitted he woke up at 3:00am doing laps in his dreams.....but the great thing is Rick Malone and his staff. They go out of the way to make sure it is a grand experience, is safe and that you do not get beyond your capability. So, go expecting to leave with an amazing gain in knowledge and competence....and a feeling of Wow!, these guys really know their stuff and with complete grace, imparted much of their knowledge to me. I now am somewhat worthy to own my 'vette!

If you can't find room at the SMountain condos, try the Best Western in Pahrump. Nice place for me. Go for room 120 if you take your 'vette. Great parking right in front of your door. I liked being able to keep my eye on my car. Have fun!

I just took it June 6,7 and 8. I'll be thinking about you guys tomorrow and a bit jealous......
I look forward to hearing your opinions after the course. Hope it isn't 110 degrees. We lucked out as it was still in the mid 80s.

Got a room in the condos. I wanted to go early November - they could take me the week of Thanksgiving. I didn't want to fly either the weekend before or after that - too many amateurs on the airlines.

SO, I'm going December 5-7. Fly up on the 4th and out on the 8th. I even have a massage scheduled for my last day there after the class. What a class act. And yes, the butterflies will be flying high that first day. I remember my first night in Phoenix before Bondurant - I didn't sleep at all and kept thinking to myself "what the hell have you gotten yourself into?". I'm so glad I went.

I had a long talk with Donna and although I've done Bondurant, I know this will instill even more confidence and knowledge in my ability. I can't wait to go.

You'll be just fine regardless.....we were told the vettes can run on the track all day long with the AC at full blast. Also, anytime you are standing around outside ( which is just once or twice ) they take AC SUVs or vans for you to wait in......first class all the way.

Can i still take teh ZR1 course if I just pay for it rather then buying one?

(i have an 08 supercharged vette) so I figure that would be the best learning experience.

ps lol please send me a good coupon spring mountain! The 3 day course looks FUN!

Ah, thanks for the information.
I'm not too concerned about the heat Been in a desert or two over the years. At least the humidity won't be 99.9999% like itis here in L.A. (lower Alabama).

These cars do run surprisingly cool. I'm reading low 190's in same conditions where my Z06 would be 205 or higher.
