Default How Much Spray Can My Cammed Z06 Take?

Finally got my Z into the 10's with a 10.89 at 128.90...now i wanna go faster and was thinking of hitting it with 100 shot of spray...car is a simple setup, it has lg cam and full exhaust with vararam cai and tune...made 527 rwhp and 470rwtq.....cars best mph was a touch under 134 but on my 1 and only 10 sec pass it went just under 129...it did a 1.61 60ft that pass which is its best ever...anyway i wanna go faster and figure spraying it would do that...heard that the motors cant take a ton of spray so is 100 shot too much to hit it with....its an 07 Z06, stock clutch and i always run a drag radial size 305/35/18 on a house of wheels 18x10 split 5 spoke wheel....just want some recomendations on spray, what kit is best and safest to use etc etc....do i make it wot activated or do i just do it old school on a button in my hand? anyway thoughts would be great...

I've seen a couple ZO6's at the Texas Mile running 100 shot's of N2O. That seems to be a safe level if set up and tuned correctly.

I wouldn't spray with the stock valve guides still in there. I am planning to add nitrous, but I decided to get my heads done, valves and guides replaced, and pistons forged first. Now I need to upgrade my fuel system, then I will consider nitrous.

See you are in Katy. Who did you get the work done with and what valves and guides did you get?

Richard at WCCH in California did my heads and replaced all my valve guides, intake and exhaust with bronze guides and SI SS Exhaust valves with stock Ti intake valves. We also flat milled the heads .010 and angle milled them as well to bump the compression up to 13.8:1 since I run on E85. Are you in or around Katy?

Grrrr I'm jealous. I need to take my car in and get the heads done but that means I need to do the clutch and shoot while I'm at it I may as well do the headers. Maaaaaan I don't want to spend anymore money. Stupid mod addiction.

I'm down here in Clearlake. Why'd you have your stuff done there?

Trust me I know. My car was running mid 10's with a cam only, stock clutch, small headers, stock heads, etc...but I wanted to go faster. So I ended up deciding to do the heads and clutch.....then I decided to do the FAST and NW102....and I might as well upgrade to larger diameter headers. Forgot to buy new flywheel bolts so I was stuck with a bare block looking me in the face, so I decided to drop in some forged pistons and ARP hardware, and now I'm finally about ready to put her back together, get her tuned and preparing for the fuel system and nitrous setup later this year. I took a $4000 budget and destroyed it.

A few reasons...one, WCCH is one of the best shops for head work, great reputation. Also, they have a combination that they do for Carlos and the guys at Vette-Air whom I have been working with for my cam selection and E85 tuning. He has gotten some great numbers from his cars, I didn't want to try and re-invent the wheel, so I went with what works.

i've been spraying my Z for a while now. Install a 100 shot and spray the house down. I would go ahead and do heads, valves etc. and you will need a stronger clutch. LS7s LOVE nitrous

If the internals are stock, I wouldn't spray more than a 150 shot...

i'm spraying 100wet on my stock block and fuel system. runs like a champ! my heads and valves haven't been done yet but that is the next mod for sure. my shop made sure the valvetrain was fine when they did the cam and springs. it puts down 550NA and 665 on juice!

Yes have it activate at WOT, it prevents you blowing your motor due to human error. oh and get a clutch.
