It frees up 95 lbs......... for the serious drag racer, to go along with a manual steering rack that combined could potential save over 100 lbs over the nose of the car.
3200.00 , and probably the biggest weight savings in one upgrade other than the drag pack. I'm sure this is part of the weight loss program that allowed Sebast19X to get down to a claimed 2725 lbs dry weight.
It's VERY hard to get an already light C6 Z06 1LZ car under 2800 lbs........remember, even Jim Hall's feather light ULZ735 car with carbon wheels came in at a then unheard of 2785 lbs dry weight

It is......but it does incredible things when you are 1/4 mile drag racing.
Even the carbon fiber deck lid/Lexan glass replacement from Katech doesn't get close to 100 lbs savings in one fell swoop.
The drag wheel setups from Weld and others, when paired with an appropriate tire, can shave 100 lbs off a car.

Only thing that sucks, is having to switch to a dedicated drag brake. Which, I'm sure, is a majority of the weight loss. How do the strange brakes perform on a street/strip car? I'd venture to say they were designed to work along side a parachute and not the sole way of slowing down the vehicle.

Getting the car under 2850lbs is going to be tedious and expensive. My goal is to get the car to 3000lbs, with me in it. Luckily, I've put myself on a diet, so that might make it just a tad bit easier. I'm about 25lbs down from 256lbs. ::thumbs up::

If you can squeeze into the seats, it's free game!

NOPE. I'm running stock K frames all around. And jim Hall, have all stuff in. IT's far from a real comparaison. He have both seats, big wheels setup, Big brakes kits (ZR1 calipers) full exhaust and so on. Yes its feather light for a street car ....But it are not a drag pack car ...
