I know the M1 0W40 (Eurpean Blend) is spec'd for C6 Zs in Europe, and this 0W40 Mobile one oil also has more anit-wear additives and seems like a better choice, since GM calls for it in Zs in Europe.
That being said counselor I don't know how the Eurpoean blend matches up versus the M1 high mileage oil for a low mile Z, that will be driven the way it was meant to.

Thanks Mopar. The reason this came up, is that I know of an engine builder that uses the Mobil 1 High Mileage in the LS motors he builds. Just wondering if anyone else has an opinion or info on using this in our motors.

Basically, if you want Mobil 1, use 0w40. If you're willing to venture away from it, do your research and buy the best possible oil available.

I have been running the Mobil 1 Extended in my 09Z. I had a Blackstone lab test done at a 5000 mile oil change. They checked the "additives" and suggested going another 2K miles. I had 3-4 HPDE days, the Mojave Mile once or twice and the Silver State Classic at the 110 MPH class on the oil and their tests indicated all is well.
I do like the idea of the Mobil 1 0W-40, particularly if it is spec'd for the Euro Z's.

They said the Extend Per Mobil 1 had about twice the amount of wear resistant stuff, so I started using it in all my vehicles at that time.
As a side note about why I've used Mobil 1 since 1979, the following occurred after the first oil change to Mobil 1 5w30 that year.
1. Changed oil at 8000 miles in my Honda to Mobil 1.
2. Started engine that warm day after the change to Mobil 1 and couldn't figure out why it immediately went to 1250 RPMs...
3. Let engine warm, tapped gas pedal to be sure auto choke on Carb was not engaged, and watched RPMs settle back to 1250...just an engine without a computer telling it what to do.
4. Had to back-off the Carburetor idle adjustment screw to get the idle back to the normal 750 RPMs.
That was a lot of friction reduction in the engine, so I've used Mobil 1 in all my cars since. In simple terms, it works! And to my delight, my first Corvette in 1992 came from the factory with Mobil 1 already in it.

with the new EPA mendates, 5w30 is used to get better gas milege and also to help with cat efficiency by having less phosphorus content. This is why I would NEVER use 5W30 for anything BUT daily driving...none the less I think I will be going to the 0W40 next time around, just to get that ppm back up where I think it should be.

I run a 50/50 mix of Castrol TWS 10w-60 and Mobil 1 5w-30. Mostly because I get the TWS at an absurdly cheap price through work, but either way oil temps drop about 20º with this mix compared to straight 5w30. I know many say dont mix oils, i ran my C5 the same way HARD up to 140k miles without any issues, its now sold and still going strong.
It was designed to have a good cold flow viscosity and really high sheer. As for the additive pack, if it runs a 15k factory interval for BMW M cars, then must have something working well.
Cold idle pressure is about 65lbs to 95 or so in upper rpm, once above 100-110 degrees, idle is about 55lbs, 70 or 75 lbs in upper rpm

I used the M1 high milage 5w30 in my goat. It has more additive packs for anti-wear and detergents. It is also a bit thicker than any other 5w30 on the shelf. The UOA that I have seen on BTOG have been good.

My 35,000 mile 2008 Z06 has used the "original' Mobile 1 5-30 since new.
Mabe that's why I have had to replace 16 lifters and a few thousand miles later, a new camshaft and three more lifters...........?
BTW, a daily driver, never raced or tracked and have only hit the rev limiter once or twice.
On second thought, mabe that's the problem..........
