Default Slipped clutch, wtf???

Just pulled car out for the first time in probably 2 months. Went to do a launch using the low rpm, brief clutch slip method that ranger says works well. I think I had way to many revs and too much clutch slip on my behalf because when I had completely let off the clutch pedal the car was all revs and no go, then I shifted to 2nd and same deal, all revs, no go. I thought I destroyed something. So I came to a slow roll and hammered on it and everything worked perfect. Should I be worried about the clutch or is that just a screw up on my end and I shouldn't worry? 06' Z, 10XXX miles.

It's the car punishing you for beating on it when cold!

You probably just glazed the clutch. These things will slip with even the slightest excess in rpm or if you are running too sticky of a tire.

If you had the means, I would put a decent clutch in and forget about clutch problems. For the most paper, an aftermarket clutch will handle better than the stock clutch.

Real easy to glaze the clutch...just has to cool off and will be fine.

Probably you did not glaze the clutch. Check your clutch fluid for debris, I had the same minor but annoying problem.

Sounds like you just glazed the clutch. I would definitely check the reservoir to ensure it has darkened from all the dust that was released. If you decide you want a clutch that doesn't have a self adjusting pressure plate and can handle some abuse, feel free to contact me!
