Isn't it the redline that actually has better / longer reception?

Used the BlendMount and the Mirror tap on my 08 Z. Looks GREAT... perfect fit, nice and tight to the mirror , and no wires visible...perfect..

Yes, it does have a more sensitive receiver and is good if you only use a detector on the highway. The 9500ix is good for both city and highway and also uses GPS to block out false alarms in the city. The 9500ix is not quit as sensitive as the Redline, personally I like the 9500ix but nothing against the Redline either. We do offer both versions....

I too bought this and wanted to ask where the red and green wires go into or onto the mirror connector. The instructions say to use black on upper row and ping in center of bottom row. I could not get power using this method but admittedly my Detector might be at fault and I might have a faulty mini cord. Can anyone that installed on a 2lz z06 with onstar confirm or let me know which wires worked on escort 9500? odds are I will be cutting into wires so if any one can tell me which colored wires they ended up using for the gren and black o nthe mini cord it will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks

I'm guessing I must have received a generic brand as my instructions were not this clear.

Sadly my red wire pin broke so I will have to tap into the pink wire or try to get a replacement cable.

Thank you!! Much clearer than the much less clear instructions included with the power cord. I, too, was unable to get mine to work but apparently it was because I was trying to put the "quick connect" under the black and pink wires (autodimming mirror on my Z06) rather than over the wire. And under does result in no power.

It still does result in some mystery because red and green while definitely the middle pair in an RJ11 connector has no known connection to + and/or - electricity. Were you or I selling this product we would include your very fine link in the instructions and also identify what wire in the RJ11 was pos and which was negative (from the red and green choices) or we would use the outside pair in the RJ11 which are yellow and black and most of us would assume the black wire of the pair is the ground.

Full Disclosure: I bought the Blendmount and cord from the other vendor on the forum that sells it not SouthernCarParts and SouthernCarParts' instructions could be crystal clear on the power cord. From the other guys it was not at all clear. And the Blendmount itself couldn't be easier to install nor could there be a better solution for mounting the 9500ix.

I am going to be purchasing a C7 in the next few months and I have heard the rearview mirror wiring in the C7's mirror is not accessed in the same was as the C6 and that is causing problems mounting the 9500ix into the C7 with the blendmount unit. Do you have any info on this?

Thanks...

I understand the Redline is more sensitive, but at the expense of substantially more false alarms...

How does this blend mount work with the Escort 9500IX Mute cord? Where do you place that device? Is there a holder that keeps the mute button up by the rear view mirror?
