Default Got my Drag Radials Mounted/Review, couple Pics!

Just put on some 345/30/19 NT05R Nittos. 1st gear almost 100% hooks at 20 and 30mph just squeals a little but still pulls hard, where as my NT05 Street tires would just spin bad even at 1/2 throttle in 1st. On the NT05R's if I bang 2nd gear it comes out a little but as long as I take it a little slow on the shift its fine. They drive just fine no sway or feel loose on the highway and handle okay but I don't push my car in corners.
This is all only with 40 miles on the tires, 27psi, and not doing a burnout or anything before hand. These things rock!

Nice! I've had good luck with Nittos on both of my Vettes. Have you done any mods to your motor?

You might need an even stickier tire for the track with that kind of power lol, but im sure on the street they would be just fine

With NT05s you shouldn't be spinning them like that. What pressure were you running and are you just mashing the throttle or rolling into it? With 525 wheel my NT05s were hooking no problem because I rolled in and was running 28psi cold.

I ran 28psi when they were warm and even if i would roll into it it'd still spin not as bad tho. Plus no sense in rolling into when trying to run someone who doesnt have too.

Thats odd. Are you running an aggressive alignment?

I've got the 335/30-19 NT-05's on the back of my stock Z. At the Mojave Mile I definitely had to modulate the throttle in 1st gear up to about 45 MPH. It did hook up mostly on the 1-2 shift. Once on one of my two best runs (173.5 MPH trap), I got minor wheel hop after the 1-2 shift. No power shifting, but good quick shifts. NT-05's have about 4K miles on them including 3 HPDE days

stock alignment, they are for sure better than what I had stock and did let me hook anywhere above 50mph in 2nd but 1st never seemed to dead hook I would need to peddle it. Which I understand is what your gonna have to do on street tires on a Z but if I'm spinning and the guy next to me is hooking I'm gonna lose.
Its like 50-60* now here I bet in the summer they prolly would hook or be alot better then

Sounds about right mine would hook anywhere in 2nd, it is a great street tire and IMO the best Street Tire out but I just wanted to get more traction

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm going with NT05 in front and NT05R in rear over the winter. I hate to give up handling but w heads and cam seems the way to go.

There is your problem. Try it again in 80 degree weather.

I don't see myself putting the NT05 Street tires back on lol being able to hook 20mph is awesome lol. I'll post up a video I took of 20-90 to show how they hook at 26psi no warming them up before hand.
