Brake Caliper Touch Up Paint
Hey guys, what are y'all using to repair chips in the paint to your brake calipers? Seems that while replacing a wheel last weekend on the driver's side front, I hit the caliper and caused a nice 1 cm x 1 cm gash in the paint. I'd like to fix it, but Gene from GM Parts House is telling me that GM does not make touch up paint for our calipers. So my question is, what is everyone else using to repair such imperfections? Thank you in advance.

Duplicolor makes Caliper / Rotor paint. I used it on my C5 and on the rotors for my Z. The stuff is awesome, but I'm not sure if the red is a match, may be worth a shot tho. You can get it at Autozone or Advanced Auto and the like.

Interesting. If this works I'll have to give it a go.

I used Victory Red NG GM 519 from Dupli-Color from Auto Zone(WalMart has this also) and I even tried my Pontiac Liquid Red called Red Hot by GM # 12346753 Code 62U WA 687F. I really can't tell from any distance the very small nicks I've touched up.

Thanks to EVERYONE who has responded in this thread. I can't hardly believe that GM doesn't offer a touch up paint specific to the Z's calipers, as big as they are and as much as they stand out!
Regardless, I'm dropping the car off tomorrow to Late Model Racecraft in Houston to have their "SLAYER" package installed, so it'll be a bit before I can get to this. Rest assured though, as soon as she gets back to the house, I'll give it a go and report back with the results. Hopefully by then, 1FUNC5 will know if the GS's caliper touch up is in fact the same as the Z's. If so, I'll go that route. Otherwise, it'll be Testors or Dupli-Color.....!
You guys are awesome! Thank you!

I got the tube from selling dealer of car and they ordered torch red. I have since done ALOT of digging with my parts guy and we contacted the vendor for calipers and now supposedly have a tube of the red on its way. They gave us a random part number and when you look it up there is no description in parts computer so we are HOPING it is the red. Should be in the first of the week.
