2009 Z06 tire recommendations
OK, I know there are probably 100 tire threads but i can find what I am looking for exactly. Well it is almost time for new tires at around 11000 miles. I want to stay with run flats as it is a daily driver and not raced. I would however like to go with a little bigger than the stock size. I am also thinking about lowering it with the stock lowering bolts once I put new tires on. My plans are if the tires are taller to atleast bring the body back down to the stock ride hight and make it close up the gap between the tires and body. Any recommendations and pictures woudl be appreciated.

I don't know what your dilemma is. With run-flat you only have Goodyear, Michelin and B'stone. All much written about and staying with runflat limits you on sizes.

i just put nitto NT05 on my car last week, not a runflat but i love these tires, they are night and day over the stock good years, so smooth its like glass and more than 50% quieter, i also went wider front and rear, 335/285

I have NT05;s also, but the OP wants to stay with runflats. I think the only "larger" runflats are the M Pilot Sport 345/30-19's built for the Viper, although they are two generations old.

Im goign with the NT-05's in a couple weeks. But as AzDave47 said your pretty limited wanting to stay with runflats.

Melting Slicks
i just put the stones on ..they are a good replacement for the gy's...cost less, ride good...quieter than worn out gy's...dont know if they will be quieter when they are worn...look good too

Has anyone had both B'stones and NT-05 and could give a direct comparison.
I'm looking for something that has more grip AND lasts significantly longer than G'year OEM. Can't decide but I'm interested in these 2 choices.

I'll give a thumbs up to the Michelin PSP2's: they should get almost double the mileage, ride very well and are noticeably quieter. Unfortunately they cost more too.

Agree 100%. You should go with the 19-20 PS2 setup that comes standard on the 2011 Z07 option like I have. Rides much smoother and quieter than the GY's on my 09 Z06. You want: Michelin Pilot Sport PS2: Front: 285/30R19 87Y, Rear: 335/25R20 94Y

Unfortunately, going 19/20 also means more $$$$$for new wheels if you don't have the Z07 option..

I just got mine for $2215 at the dealer (met Discount Tires price.) I only got 9300 miles from the GYs. The Michelins run a lot quiter and smoother than the GYs and should last about 30000 miles. They are also better than the Goodrich tires. Pretty bad reviews out there on the Goodrichs though they are about $600 cheaper.

Aside from a FEW complaints concerning SOME Michlelins 'chunking', the above review isn't very complimentary.
Been very satisfied, so far, with Bridgstone's RF product for my Z06.
OTOH if one choses to spend the extra loot, go for it.
One thing's for certain...really can't go wrong with anything, besides GY.

We would echo the recommendations of the PS2s from other members here on the forums. They seem to align well with what you area expecting. If sticking with a run flat, they are probably the best option.

When my car was practically new with the OEM tires, my wife and I drove it 70 miles each way through Houston. My wife bitched the whole way about the tire noise, and she was right - it is really bad on concrete freeways.
I'm not going to imply that the Michelin's turn it into a Lexus, but they damn sure are better in that regard. The only complaint I've heard about the Michelin that I consider mildly accurate is that there is a slight bit of "mush" on initial turn-in compared to the Goodyears. I want to stress though that it is only noticeable to some seriously **** folks. I doubt if most people even notice is at all. I've got 5,000 miles on mine, and I run them quite hard in some curves on a regular basis and I will never go back.

Ok. I have decided to consider goign away from run flats and looking at the Invos. What sizes are most of you running on your Z's. i was thinking about going to the next size over stock
345/30-19 rear
295/35-18 front
Any issues? Will the scrub?
