Yes, and did you also know that nobody has ever died at Disneyworld?

Surely you are joking. I will let someone else comment.

Spring Mountain is Like Disneyworld for Corvette owners.....

You will never see a SM Corvette die, perhaps a privately owned, but never a SM car.

GM sends Zr1 + maybe other new vette buyers, (or used to), to Spring Mountain for driving instruction, correct? Sound like one big corvette comercial? Why do you think they were teaching you how to drive in a 3LZ Z06 and not a 1LT C6?

Spring Mountain Vettes are only kept in service for XX miles, (I forget the magic #) then replaced. They keep them fresh and pull a car out of service at the 1st sign of trouble. How would someone would feel if they broke down in a new Vette while learning how to drive it after they just dumped a whole bunch of money on one themselves? I'm thinking not that good.

Make sense?

Bro you are the biggest doubting Thomas, just sell your car to someone who will appreciate it and not live in fear.
The % is not that high go call your dealership, pm owners of shops on here, and go to local road course/drag strip as how many have blown. Its not that typical.
Hell if you say there is 10x's as many Blown Z's out their besides what is on this forum (~500) thats barely 2% of all Z's made.

This poll proves nothing, not everyone on this forum is doing the poll in this section. This section of the forum is just getting flat out stupid with all these stupid threads

This forum only offers us what we have, we have no other numbers to go by, anyone can guess and make up numbers, and of course these numbers on the forum are not representative of anything but what we have on the forum. EVERYTHING else is just guesses which are totally meaningless , basic statistics.
Having a valve guide wear in years from 2006 to 2011 only on this engine shows me the problem is not being addressed by GM at all, my guess is the reason they are doing this is that the fix is cost prohibited and will ride out the warranty claims for they will be much less than the fix or recall, this is based on my 30 years of fortune 100 business experience, retired at 50.
I will also predict that many more will come this summer when people start driving again. The low mileage on many Z"s will delay the issue, which GM is planning on.

The only real stats we have is from this poll, as poorly devised as it is, it is all we have based on the forum members. The only real conclusion we can make based on this pool is the % is high, very high. That may or may not relate to the total population of Z06 owners, we do not know based on this pool, would surely raise questions as to the severity of the issue.
We pretty much know the issue is valve guide wear but not the root cause of that wear.
Some owners choose to ignore it and move on, some check wear, some sell the car.
One reason I check forums on all my cars is to see issues that arise, this is definitely an issue to be concerned about IMO. Others see it as stupid to even talk about it.

PS
When there is a design issue, if that is it, I feel the manufacture should do more than they are doing. GM hopes this discussion just goes away, they will never admit to this one because the expense is too great to replace or redesign on a car selling hundreds per year and this engine ending its production. Yes I said it, this engine will soon, no longer produced after the Z06 is out of production, all IMO.

sad but true. I've stopped reading this section of the forum as much because it's the same banter over and over and over... same debates, same speculations and band-wagon menatlity. It's just plain stupid. what ashame. There is great information and feedback on this section, but it gets tiresome weeding through all the other BS that is now prevelant everyday. I am spending more time in C6 Gen and OT
