You must be new around here. If you are, well then do a search. "Polls" and threads exist on this subject matter already.
Don't take this the wrong way, but it's time for these type threads to die, die, DIE. This poll will be every bit as worthless as the last one like it.
All of the meaningful data on LS7 engine failures which can be collected on an anonymous forum has already been collected in here. This topic has been milked bone dry.
Anonymous polls such as the one you are encouraging people to respond to, have been posted in here ad nauseum, and to call them meaningless, well that would be a "generous" description of them.
You aren't going to get anything on this forum more "specific" than stock failures (modified failures, all bets are off) already documented on this forum, and linked to below.....and even these have to be taken with a grain of salt as they are, for the most part, coming from anonymous posters. We've gotten all there is to get out of the blown LS7 subject.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...st-update.html
Enough with this dead horse of a subject already.
When this thread runs it's course, we won't know **** more than we know now, and any member on this forum, putting any credence into this, yet another anonymous poll, will be that much dumber for having done so.

Hey guys sorry for beating a dead horse but Its the engineer in me that wanted to put together this poll with a better corelation then a bunch of random names in a thread. Sorry if this poll is a duplicate of a past poll but I didnt see any poll like this before. Yes Im a newb, and excited to soon be part of the Z community.

Ex. (6 cars)
3 No issues
3 Replaced
3 2006
2 2007
1 2008
2 tracked
4 not tracked
3 stock
2 bolt-on (<30 RWHP)
1 modded (>30)
Now how can you tell from that which one(s) are
2007 blown up and tracked?
#13
How do you plan to correlate them? You might know how many of each, but you won't know which ones are which.

For the very reason you cite above, this particular poll, might actually have the dubious distinction, of ultimately telling us not just less, but CONSIDERABLY FAR LESS than any of the other half baked and ill conceived polls of it's type which preceded, and possibly spawned it.
Right now, that poll is giving you 5 motors replaced. Now were they all/some in tracked cars, or all street/some driven cars? If so how many of the 5? How many of the 5 were in modded cars over 30hp? How about modded cars under 30hp? Again, how many of the 5? Or were they all 5 stock cars? How many of that 5 were from each model year? Since 6 model years are listed, how many of that 6 are represented in the replaced motor group? :
And this is part of why I said that any forum member putting any credence into it would have done nothing but become that much dumber for having done so. A "voter" can make multiple selections in that poll. It's time for these "Lets start an LS7 engine failure threads to Die, Die, DIE.
Furthermore, people from Mustang, Camaro, VW, Porsche, etc. fora, can cast "votes" and make multiple selections in it as well.
That's why it's WORTHLESS.
How one can conclude that this poll, in a long list of polls, similar to, if not just like it, can shed any more light on this subject than "a bunch of random names in a thread" can, is strange. You don't know who is casting these "votes", or even if they are actual owners, or have ever claimed anywhere to have been actual owners.
At least that "bunch of random names in a thread", many of which really aren't "random" at all, to those of us who have been here for awhile, and recognize their longevity as members here, are hyperlinked so that the actual story of the reported failure can be read by our forum members, and conclusion drawn by the reader as to how credible, or not, the actual report is. How concerned or not, he needs to be about this issue.
This "poll" does none of that and amounts to a waste of bandwidth on top of an already excessively huge waste of bandwidth already put forth on this subject.

oh and dont forget to add "how many times you honestly missed a shift and hit RPM limiter" especially for those that have raised the limiter. it happens, weve all done it. im also sure our valve trains dont like it.....defintely could play a part in our failure rate, any comments???

So, you are thinking about buying one of these cars, but you are worrying about the LS7 failing (hence the poll). You are certainly a brave man.
Two weeks ago, there is a thread about " knowing what you know now, will you still buy another Z". A few admitted they won't. I didn't post on that thread, but if I did, I would have answered NO.
You have to remember, those who have given up on the Z, have most likely sold the cars, moved on, and left this forum. They won't be here casting votes in your poll. Owners who had failed engines don't necessary hang around on this forum either. Combining the two groups, the total number of these owners could easily exceed the number of "potential" trolls some would argue would distort any poll here. I agree most polls here are not accurate, but trolls, if any, are not the cause.

Drifting
I found the cure for blown LS7s!!! Buy a Z07-equipped Z06, drive it a few miles, discover that it has the "dreaded vibration" between 70 and 80 mph, and become so disgusted that you just stick it in the garage and don't look back. Worked for me -- no engine issues.
