Pulley, damper, heat exchanger and tune. Within your budget and should put you about 725hp.

Fartpipe (and others) can help you with the drag wheel/tire set up.

My wife is originally from Colombia and yo hablo y entiendo un poquito Espanol so I do know what Mil means.

To get back on topic here...... You can see from my threads my final wheel and tire combo for the rear has produced the best results so far, and ive been through a few, that is an 18x11 ccw wheel with the mickey thompson 315 30 18 street radial II That is the same set that fartpipe used yesterday.

Default Yikes !

I am new to this forum, did not expect so many critics... Yet i do appreciate the help from the more informed members... kidding :with stupid:
I really do need some help with the tire and wheel combinations... Road track tires get real expensive when you go up in diameter... So getting the best tire size and wheel combo at reasonable price will be important for me.... ps... I did not hit the wrong key and I was not trying to throw anyone off intentionally.

On the tracking, are you wanting wheels/tires for 1/4 mile work, or road track work? Cuz those are two very different things. For 1/4 mile work you should PM folks like Fartpipe and Kyle Lemish that have/are putting the ZR thru its paces on the drag strip (and doing it quite impressively, I might add). For road track work, you can use the stock wheels and use the new Mich cup tires, or you can size wheels and go Hoosiers.

As to the hp upgrades mentioned above, trusted firms like Katech, LPE and LG can hook you up with the pulley, damper, exchanger and tune to get some very easy hp without opening up the engine.

English speaking people use it as well. Mille is just its origin. "mm" is used for millions in finance.

You're right track tires get really expensive as you go up in size.

You can go either 18" all around, 19" all around (with Hoosiers) or standard sizes (19" and 20") with the Michelin Cup tires.

If you go 18" all around you have very limited choices for wheels that fit on the front, if you go 19" wheels you have limited choices for tires.

My pick: 19" all around with Hoosiers, original wheels front, Z06 wheels in the back.

The tires will give you lower lap times than engine mod would.

Default I guess what I am looking for is 6 wheels

I am looking for 2 wheels for at the drags, and 4 wheels for the track... Any suggestions where to find used wheel? The added performance is for the Drags... Have several friends with 600+hp mustangs to have some fun with... I have done a lot of drag racing over the years, yet am surprised to see stock zr1's pulling 130mph in the 1/4.... Is this for real? or do the bite the race tires give offer the big gain in mph vs. the various magazine tests that reflect mid 120's...

There's a sticky thread up top of this section dealing with 1/4 mile and standing mile times. There are some stock tire 1/4 mile runs in there.

And yes, the ZR is very much for real on what it can do, but driver skill is key.

Well, outside the realm of you specific interest in tire/wheel combo's, but a significant non-drag racing driver upgrade would be going to either Spring Mountain or Bondurant driving courses.

Default Good Idea...

I did attend the Justin Bell z06 school a couple years back.... We have a great track here in Minnesota, Brainard International Race Track.... They have several driving school days which open the track up to all day driving. In my past z06, I would get two days on a set of race slicks... Sold the extra wheels with the car... now I have to buy a set for the Zr1....
