[Z06] Z06 Comp Gray Spyder Wheels
#21
I called Bobs house of wheels with an inquiry about 6 months ago, he talked to me like I was some kid who couldn't afford to buy his product. Very dismissive and quick to get off the phone. Needless to say, I won't be buying from him and I don't know what anyone here sees in his customer service. Just being honest as that was my experience.

I have not had any experience with him. But if these threads are true, and he is mis-representing his products, then, this practice should not be allowed.
What's up with this?

These dealers should be honest and upfront that they are selling blems or aftermarket wheels. Its way too easy to call it OEM just because the wheel is stamped Speedline etc. It does NOT mean they were finished by them or it does not mean they were not rejects. Any private sellers should also be up front also, especially selling on this forum. I was one that recently got taken by a forum member here that sold me 08 split spoke wheels that he swore he bought from a GM dealer, but they were in fact just mismatched blems like all the others. He will have to pay up at some point with Karma coming his way. In the meantime I bought good wheels and re sold those blems at a loss locally. Live and learn. I would only buy through a dealer from here on in though.

Kind of like "he" is doing "you" a favor ...What a joke.

I realize from experience Bob is fast and loose in this internet world- phone is fielded by him alone- sounds like he is always doing something else when you call him.
Having said that- And I had twice had wheels needing to be reworked- he always said any issue with the wheel- ever- he would make it right. Which he has. PIA to mount and remount wheels- yep. But I just bought a second set of wheels from him, I chose him because the wheels were almost half price from OEM and 30% less than a large Wheel house specialist. They are Speedline wheels-which I have had no issues with in terms of performance of balancing. They are mechanically correct wheels AFAIK- personal experience.
I wish he had tracking numbers, log in account updates, etc.- but that is not how my experience has been- sort of like old school call "a guy" and he’ll take care of you" sort of thing. Not defending him- just saying.

I finally got my money back but let me advise everyone on this site that the wheels Bob's House of Wheels sells are blems...no doubt about it! My advice is to simply, STAY AWAY!
NOW, would anyone have a set of OEM, non-blem Comp Gray Spyder's for sale?

Glad you got your money back. I too was on the hunt for MINT Comp grey wheels years ago. Every single pair I found for sale had a at least a nick on it somewhere.
What I wound up doing was buying oem wheels and having my painter strip them and paint them with the GM paint code for comp grey. With several extra coats of clear, they look even better than the factory. Just a thought.
Oh, and I also bought wheels from House of wheels, and what I received wasn't 100% what I was told I was getting. I was told I was getting 4 painted wheels, assuming I could strip and repaint them. Turned out to be 2 polished and 2 painted, caused me some hassle but in the end it was fine, but just a heads-up to others ordering.

The chome in the barrels was not good, but elsewhere it was pretty good. In all, I felt I got a good deal.

Thanks to the OP for posting this!!!!
I SO did not want to deal with a problem like his, and while everybody wants to save a few bucks when they can, it is not worth that kind of aggrivation.
I ended up ordering a set from Kevin at Parts Taxi. I sent him several emails asking questions and even talked to him on the phone - he was very responsive. The wheels were new, blemish free GM/Speedline units with caps and TPS. All arrived within two weeks of ordering. Kudos to Kevin

If anyone is still looking, I have a set that I took off from my 2009 and they are safely stored in my basement. I also have 4 extra Goodyear original tires with full tread depth and two extra front Goodyears also.
Let me know if interested in any of these. Shoot me a PM.
Thanks,
Steve
