Default Rear driver's side storage bin - rather the lack of same.

Where did the driver's side rear storage bin go? Was surprised that it was gone.

Traded in a 2008 ZO6 for a black/black 3ZR ZR1. Only had two idots pull out in front of me on the drive home so count that as a plus.

I said the same thing when I got My ZR1. The answer I got from forum members was that it's probably used for the shocks or the fuel system upgrades if I remember correctly? That's where I had my Battery tender permanetly wired and keep my detail stuff too.

Sounds reasonable. Will have to take a peek up under there to see what is crammed in that space. I used to keep detail stuff there also. It was a handy little bin and was nice not to have stuff rolling around in the back.

I was wondering the same, and assumed the suspension components took up the space...used to keep my jacking pucks (in a storage bag), wheel lock key, etc in one of the rear storage bins in my '09 C6 coupe...

now have put same inside the cargo net and spread things out a bit...those bins were certainly convenient !

have looked at the after-market storage trays offered by CF vendors, but they do not appeal to me...

and OP, congratulations on your new ZR1 !

Thanks!

I have the drop-in divider only from Southern Cowboy ( a forum vendor and I probably butchered the name) and I would recommend it highly. Inexpensive and with the cargo shade, really makes for a finished look. But it doesn't take the place of that bin. Oh well, small price to pay for what the rest of the car provides

It was eliminated in the ZR1 because the fuel flow control module and fuel pump delivery module is located in that space. The fuel pump delivery module operates the three phase brushless fuel pump

Thanks! Saved me the trouble of doing the contortions to look at stuff I wouldn't be able to identify anyway

Thanks for sharing. This is the first time I have heard mentioned what is actually taking up the space. The question was debated many many months ago with no definite answers. Had to be something unique to the ZR1 itself.

Oddly enough that fuel module hardly takes any of the space in there. It is just bolted to the bottom of the storage bin. All you need is to build a false floor for it and the z06 cargo carpet and lid and you can have additional storage. Just not sure it is worth it!
