Default TR6060 MM6 to MH3 Ratio swap probleme help

Hi, I'm wondering how the ratio in the transmission are calculated. That would probably help me to understand what part in my TR6060 ratio swap (MM6 to MH3) didn't work together . All gear ordered for swap are ZR1 MH3 ratio including input shaft and cluster shaft.

I have establised my setup (shim selection /preload) on each individual shaft, and then when I'll be ready to assemble them together, they simply didn't fit !!! Both shaft sit with a V shap on the bearing cup on the adapter case.

I have started to look and count tooth on shaft. My MM6 input shaft have the same diameter and the same tooth number as my new input MH3 ratio (31). The MH3 cluster shaft have 41 tooth and my MM6 cluster have 36 tooth. So both imput are the same , how it is possible to have a different tooth number on the cluster and the same imput shaft tooth and they are supposed to fit ??? I'm a little lost ...

The supplier of the gear ratio swap, ordered a second imput shaft MH3 and he have also 31 tooth. Is it possible that the cluster MH3 should have also 36 tooth like my MM6 in 4th gear to get 1:1 ratio

Help needed to understand.

Thank you,
Seb

Ok I have some more information. And I've take some mesurement yesterday. So to let you know guys for who is interest here is what I've got.

The input shaft I've finally got is the wrong one for sure. He have 47 degree of gear tooth angle (MM6). The MH3 ratio from ZR1 have 58 degree.

And then to understand how GM arrive to calculate the internal ratio here is the math I've got:

EG for MM6 2nd gear 1.78:1 ratio.

First you have to know the tooth number for the input shaft (4th gear 1:1) and the number of the tooth on the cluster shaft 4th gear.

In a MM6 Z06 we got this: 31 main and 36 cluster
Second, you divide 31/36 =0.8611.(kept in memory this number)
This ratio affect the rest of the gear ratio in the gear box.

Third lets say for de 2nd gear 1.78:1.
43 tooth main and 28 tooth cluster ( 43/28= 1.5357)
So : 1.5357/0.8611 =>>>> 1.78:1
The input shaft have to turn 1.78 time on itself to get 1 turn of the output shaft !!!

You could do the maths for all tooth number for the remaining gear and that match perfectly.

I hope this little information should help someone like myself.

Interesting things, if you only buy the 5th and 6th gear ratio from MH3 ZR1 and you kept you 1th-4th gear ratio MM6, you got a 0.76:1 5th gear and 0.63:1 6th gear.

Have a good day

Sebastien
