Hey guys,
I've been lucky enough in my life to own 2 C6 Z06s. A 2006 Le Mans Blue and a 2011 Supersonic Blue. I had read all about the ZR1 exhaust changes for the 11 model year but couldn't find a good back to back comparo of acceleration.
The 11 with flaps open pops and crackles way more on decel than the 06. I would say the car also makes a few extra with the X pipe. Just more aggressive. Looks like they added some cats for the 12s. Glad I got the 11!

You are correct about the crackle and pops! Had my 2011 out this weekend with the M to W on the Wild side the whole ride and it definately pops and crackles on decel, every time.

I just bought a ZR1 X-pipe for my car, and I just dyno'd my with the stock H-pipe. Next time on the dyno before any tuning is done Im going to do a couple pulls to see what the difference if any is between the X and H pipes. I have modded 07 mufflers on mine. Thanks for the videos! The 2011 for sure sounds better.

Other than the cracks and pops, they sound about the same -maybe the 2011 is just a litte louder.. Both your 2006 and 2011 are awesome. just by looking at the video, the '06 seems a little faster. Maybe you were not standing on the 2011 as hard as you were the 06.
The 2006-2010 with the mufflers with the mod, sounds louder then the 2011+.
I will stick with my 2009 z06 muffers , see no need to expend the effort of the muffler mod or paying for 2011+ mufflers.

my 12 sounds the same with the cats. same popping also. GM claims there is no HP loss with the cats. if one were to dyno the two, they would prob be so close anyway. I may pull my 12 x pipe and take a pic of it next to an OEM ZR1 x-pipe later today.

The 11 is faster. In fact if you run the videos at the same time from the 1st to 2nd shift on, giving the 06 the advantage, the 11 reaches 3rd faster. I ran my friends Ferrari 458 the other day and was right with him. Typically a Z needs intake and tune for that. Need to get to the dyno, but seat of pants feels stronger especially on shift.
The sound to me is louder and def drones more on the highway, thank God for the M2W. But at full throttle it's more exotic sounding and has a more textured raspy sound. The 06 made a cleaner V8 sound, and to me sounded like the 70s King Kong roar lol... Intoxicating and satisfying enough not to swap exhausts from the stock unit.
