597hp/542tq Straightline Performance and Doug@ECS H/C Build
2007 C6 Z06 made 597 hp/ 542 tq on Straightline Performance's Mustang Dyno.
I would like to thank Nick, Brendan and all the other guys at Straightline Performance who helped with this build and answered all my phone calls and questions. Thanks for the extra work and late night to get it ready in time for Doug to come out. Thanks also to Richard at WCCH for getting my heads to us overnight, even with your computers being down.
Doug, thanks for making the trip out here and working your magic. Drew and I are going to have to keep finding people in Chicago for you to tune so you can come out here every year, it's a good time hanging out and hearing you and Nick talk shop. I think I doubled my technical car knowledge over the past three days! And although you may like hanging out with crackheads, we are going to have to put you up in a nicer hotel next time . ZBADESTZ as always thanks for all the misc stuff you helped with, I'm pretty sure we put over a 1000 miles on our cars this week with all the tuning going on this weekend.
Here are the main parts of my set up, I'm leaving out all the supporting parts:
-Straightline Performance Cam 24x/25x .65x/.66x (I don't want to give the exact specs, but Nick @ Straightline has no problem giving them out)
-WCCH worked heads
-Halltech CF112
-NW 102 TB
-Ported Fast 102
-1 7/8" ARH/ mid section (no cats)
-Akrapovic rear section
-and errrgghhh stock clutch... for now, then Mantic
The car sounds like a monster, the Akrapovic really gives it a unique sound. Driving it is !! The only thing I can compare the pull from 3500 is to a liter sport bike, lots of fun.
I have to save some $$$ right now but I'm looking forward to putting the new clutch in and getting sticky MT's for my stock 19"'s... (or maybe a drag pack ), to show off my weak drag skills!!!. If I can't get it in the low 10's i'll hang my head and hand the keys to Nick... and see if Nick can get something besides a 12.9 haha. I'm not big on dyno numbers, but I'm sure if I take this car to dynojet it would easily be in the 600'shp, tq would be even higher too... It's a monster!
Here's the dyno report, (sorry for the poor quality):
and some gratuitous pictures of my car:
So again thanks to everyone who helped . Any C6 Z06 guys who are interested in a H/C setup give Straightline Performance a call (815) 485-7741, even if you're not local I'm sure they can set you up with one of their cams.
I'll hopefully get an idle and dyno video posted soon.

Your car is a monster!!! It has a unique sound with your exhaust and sounds awesome. Thanks for letting us help with your build, i'm glad everything came together in time for Doug to tune it!
It's definately nice to have people from another shop come out like Doug. You get to hear his stories and experiences with cars they have built. Agreed on finding him a better hotel!! I'm glad you love how it drives and we have a pool going for how long the clutch lasts hahah!!
Hopefully you make it to the open house! I know you love your overtime though

Sounds like a great build and just about what I'm planning on doing; down to the clutch!; however, I'm going to wait out the warranty...2013. Anxious to find out what the track results will be. How's the driveability? Do you have a better idle vid? For that much power, it doesn't sound really loud or super choppy; that's how I want mine!!!
