Awesome. I think my favorite thing about these cars are the weight.

I was reading about the new Focus ST coming out, little "tuner" car or whatever, focus with a ecoboost 250hp, good brakes and suspension, a little hatch like a SVT focus version basically

Damn thing weighs almost 3300 lbs

Put a racing seat in for the driver's seat. It's a win-win, it weighs less and it's superior to the OEM seat.

Truck stop scales are VERY accurate. They have people come out and test and adjust them monthly. Most truck stop scales are CAT scales and they are guaranteed accurate.

Everything I JUST did and plan on maybe doing are reversible and could be put back to stock in 1 afternoon. FYI, this is not my daily driver-more of a weekend warrior. I don't road race and want this thing nasty fast in a straight line. I realize their is a "weight reduction" thread, but it has not been updated in over a year. Would like to know the weight savings from Borla stingers---> straight pipes(10lbs?) if their is lighter(18") rear drag pair than my 49lb setup? I'm sure the 275/17" c5 setup, but imo would look silly cruising the streets. If I did not get the acp wc hood used, I would have never bought, as was disappointed with only -5lbs, but it looks cool and I'll run coolER. Front afx rotors are an option as I may need in the future-no rear rotors needed. I would love to get the hre comp 21's, but $5k for 5lbs is quite pricey. New hood, halo/roof,phadt cf driveshaft, and deck lid are for the rich. I see the new coilovers from LG are light, but I would not maximize their use on the street. My invos still have a good amount of tread on them, but I see their are lighter options-will go that route when needed.
I don't drive this car in the summer months or in the rain, so removing the a/c, wipers and washer tank is an option, but sounds like to much of a hassle- I wil atleast drain washer tank. If I can find a used race seat I may purchase. I like the Caravaggio seat that Jim and Jason are using, but not at $2k a pop. I'm pretty much tapped out on power except for nw tb and porting my fast. I thought about swapping my lethal cam for a striker, but was told it will drive like ****-but this is my race car and 20rwhp up top sounds nice. again I will not cruise around the streets/highway with skinnies. Pictures of the car are unimpressive right now as the hood is on for a test fit and was bought used(blk/yellow) on an all black car. The rear wheels are also the stock c5z gray as the fronts are black.
Thanks for the help

If you don't install it yourself (or even if you do) you're looking at way north of $25k! But yeah, go for it man, that would be the sweetest ride on the planet. Also, for a cheap solution, delete the A/C system altogether will save more than 10 lbs. Straight pipes save WAY more than 5 lbs. Also look into lighter weight batteries. The real trick is to get the car under 3000 lbs with you in it, and get over 600 RWHP at the same time. <5 lbs/HP is where it is (stock Z06 is over 7 lbs/HP).

PS I don't know if you actually save that much weight with a racing seat now that I think about it b/c you need to add a harness bar (or cage) and an extra set of belts.

-bummer!

I was thinking 575-600rwhp. I'm at 565 now. The deka battery is 18lbs, but I could go lighter and also a lighter clutch. I would delete the a/c system as I don't drive in the summer. Car is 3160 with me and 1/8 tank of fuel. How much are you thinking parts/labor for that list? I'm sure their is a few other things I forgot. I could always add an extra 25lbs back in and squeeze a 100-200 shot on my built shortblock, but I'm done with nitrous. Hmmmmm 800rwhp@2795lbs.......

If you place your car with the wheels between two of the scales, you can see how much weight is on the front and rear wheels.
The scales have 3 scales to weigh 3 sets of axles, place the front wheels on one scale and the rears on the next scale and there you have it.

Hoosier 315/30/18 drag radials are 5lb lighter than the 315 Mickey thompsons. 10 lbs of rotating mass and $115 a piece cheaper!!!

The NRG fiberglass seats are 12lbs (Seat only no bracket) and only $200 from Assaultech. I'm planning on picking a pair up soon. Here is a link to the seat specs.

They are actually 25lbs for the fiber glass ones that cost $200. The carbon fiber ones that weigh 12lbs are $700.

That's not bad for $200. It's looks good from the pictures and saves what 20-25lbs? Can I use my sock seatbelt?
