Default catch can

Im considering a catch can. Is there any way to tell if you really need one on a N.A modded L.S.7.Dont seem to be losing oil.

I put one on and there is always some oil in there after I play hard. So it would have gone through the intake! "11 Zo7, 12K on motor. Been doing it since new. 1/4 to 3/4" of oil on the bottom. I don't think you could notice that on the dipstick but it shouldn't be in your intake!

I put one on mine. There IS always oil in it. I empty it now evertime I change oil. My Z is street driven too.

Last time I measured what was in the can and If I remember correctly, there was 32 cc.'s in it which is equal to between 1/8th to 1/4th of the bottom of 12 oz can.

That was the fourth time to change it. That oil would have gone into my intake.

That is my point it is a small amount that you could not detect on a dipstick but it shouldn't be in your intake. But there is always oil in there. This has been debated before to death. There were issues years ago w/ some pads becoming dislodged in the intake due to high revs and oil in the intake. Either way I have seen posts here of guys posting pics w/ oil in the intake. It certainly won't hurt having it even though some say it prevents nothing.
