[ZR1] Does the LS9 share the same valve train issues of the LS7?

Does the LS9 share the same valve train issues of the LS7?
Its has well documented in recent times that the LS7 is plagued with valve train issues stemming from poor geometry. The end result is terminal engine failure due to worn valve guides/broken valves. Frankly this has turned me off the Z06 and points me in the direction of the ZR1.
I have heard sniffs on this forum that some LS9s are showing the same signs (valve guides way out of spec) in fairly low milage cars. However, we dont hear about it near as much as we do the LS7s. Is this issue exempt from the LS9 or is it a case of the oldest ZR1s being 2009, and thus the issue simply hasnt come to fruition yet?

Life is too short. I have both factory and GMPP warranties so I ain't going to worry about it. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. J/K. Many of us have had enough else to be stressed about over the past 4 years and I am not about to add this one to the list.

I'm concerned, and will timely buy my GMPP for as long a period as possible, but will still enjoy my car and
attempt to gain as much knowledge as I can of this matter, and be prudent based on future developments...

what is GMPP? GM protection package? im assuming a driveline warranty? all of this means nothing to me as any ZR1 I buy will be shipped back to Australia and converted to RHD.
The Z06 guys are saying to periodically check the plugs for oil (say every 5K miles) and if you are really concerned, pay a workshop to do wiggle test on the valves checking for guide wear. At least that way you will likely discover the problem before it becomes a terminal issue.
A small price to pay for owning one of the best supercars (relatively little) money can buy IMHO.

spiller9, lots of info in this thread...

and GMPP is the extended warranty offered by GM...don't know if it is available in Australia,
and then the RHD conversion could void it anyway.

^ thanks. corvettes are not sold by GM in Aus so they definitely wouldnt honor any sort of warranty claim, even if the car was brand new. That's why I have to make sure I dont buy a car with a motor that is ready to kill itself (hence no more Z06).
I was more so curious as to what GMPP stands for though so thanks for that link.

that's a fair point. although there is difficulty with shipping a car across the US to the right workshop etc etc. I have no doubt there are shops in Aus that could do the work (our Holden cars here have all GM running gear in them), but I like the idea of a ZR1 more now anyway

thanks and
I have done a bit of reading over on the Z06 forum and I gotta say, you guys over here a slightly different bunch. Not better, nor worse, just different
