Default Thinking of popping her cherry.

I bought my 2006 Z06 18 months ago. To be honest the car does nothing for me. I put on 1000 miles on it during that time and it just don't have that performance feel to me. I know GM targeted old men with thick wallets but the thing is like a caddy on steroids. Now the whole dropped valve issues comes into play. One way or the other the heads are coming off and getting sent to WCCH. Now the car is 100% stock. I know these cars react really good to cam swap and headers and CAI. Now to find out just how big of a cam to go with? 575 at the tire to snaughty?

Different strokes for different folks... but the last time I saw someone post this, everyone kind of assumed there was something wrong with the car.

Is there a car that does feel like "performance" to you that we can use as a comparison for what your expectations are? In other words, what do you want to do with the car - Carve canyons, road race, drag race, or roast the tires at car shows? Everyone has different expectations here (some think the Z is too harsh, etc).

A heads/cam package is always a good idea... but I think maybe some coil overs and beefy sways will help get you in tune with how you think the car should feel (since you used the Caddy reference)?

575 rwhp is enough to roast the tires on a downshift to 2nd gear at 60 mph. If that doesn't do anything for you, nothing will.

The car is fine just lacking the performance feeling. I like 1/4 runs and a pull here and there on a closed road course. I've had faster cars see sig. I guess that why we have LPE. Texas speed, ETC.
here's a clip of my car.

Like the sounds of this one.

talk is just that talk
if you do something about the performance pass it on, but don't complain unless your actually going to do something about it.

I've seen that clip. It does sound good. 575 is easily achieve able. Or throw some boost at it. Plenty of ways to up the power.

A car that runs bottom 11's and the occasional high 10's is slow nice.

I will have to remember to PM you this summer when we do our HWY 20 run, perhaps we'll all learn from you how to pull well over 1G in those mighty corners. I would say 575whp for an expert of your level isnt enough. Shoot for 600whp with a big nasty cam.

1,000 miles in 18 months doesn't sound much like fun unless they were all at the dragstrip. However, if you haven't enjoyed the 100% stock performance, why did you wait 18 months to do something? Git 'er done and have some fun.

BTW, Have you lined up with a late model CTS-V yet?

OP, enlighten us and fill us in on what cars you have driven and actually owned? I've owned my share and never felt the Z06 to feel slow!!!!if it feels so slow, why are you still stock? Keep us posted on your progress, I can't wait to see what it ends up being that FEELS FAST to you¿really!

If youre this unhappy now, only serious h.p.will satisfy. Might as well skip H/C and move right up to blower.

Disagree, there are many heads/cam options that will get the OP 600 rwhp naturally aspirated which will BLOW away 600 rwhp with a blower, not to mention the LS7 engine is not a boost friendly motor with its high compression and non-forged pistons. Now I agree with you if the OP is willing to build from the block up a forged LS7 engine built for boost, and then makes 750+ rwhp, then we are talkng about something completely different at those HPower numbers.

OP, call up a shop like Livernois in MI, Straigthline Performance in Plainfield, IL, Vette Doctors in New Jersey, LPE, Katech, etc, many options, and get yourself 600 rwhp in this car, and you will **** your pants over the monster performance of 600 naturaly aspirated rwhp.

This is one was on more that I had. This one would trap 130 mph in the 1/4 without the NOS. I want to trap 134-135 on the motor.
