Default Battery tender? Where to run cord?

How are you guys running your cord for your battery tendder ? Do you leave the rear hatch unlatched or a door/window open?
First winter with my 08 Z06. Previous Vette was an 07 base with battery under hood. Thanks

Run it under the hood. Connect it to the positive terminal at the fuse box. Neg terminal next to hood strut.

That's how mine is as well.

Mine is a frequent driver all year. When it is sitting for a week I put the driver's window down 1/4", run the cord thru there and use the smart charger cigarette plug. That way I won't ever forget to take it off when I go for a drive. Obviously that would not be a good choice for a car left outside. My Sears DieHard smart charger came with normal battery terminal clips, pigtail for plug in and the cigarette plug adapters.

I connect mine to the actual battery leads in the rear and place a towel under the rear hatch latch to keep it from closing completely.

The easiest way... Plug into cigarette lighter, run wire across the driver's side floor. On the rocker, there is an indentation about 1/3 way back from the front, lay wire in indentation and close door. Myself and many others have done it for years with no issues. This also prevents the possibility of forgetting it is attached in the trunk etc.

I run the tender battery wires into the rear hatch to the battery compartment and close the hatch down. I put a towel over the rear quarter to protect the paint and have the tender on the floor attached to a timer and it comes on for 3-4 hours a day. The hatch will lock, but not be flush like it normally is when there isn't a towel and wire there. Then I just have Z06 custom car cover on it.

That's exactly how I do it and have done it for years with no issues. Sits the entire winter and I've found it to be the easiest/quickest way to do it. I hook it up every time that I know that I won't be driving it for several days. Battery still tests good after almost 7 years.

Like the timer idea. I do not like to leave mine plugged in all the time.

cig. lighter is easiest and flawless. Timer only needed if it's a straight 'charger', proper tender 'float' so no need for the timer and is what you should buy

Understand all that, I have a Ctech. I just do not like to leave it plugged in all winter.

Same here...I think that indentation is typically referred to as the "drip edge" to allow water to escape that door sill area.

I may someday change it up to that magnetized connection that goes from the fuse box down to the front grill. It essentially will break away if you forget to unplug.

I run direct to battery and run the cord out at the corner and am able to fully shut the hatch. Been doing like that for yrs, no problems.
