2015/2016 will just about be perfect! My 2013 ZR will about be paid off by then and I can start again. I had an 08 Z-06 that I sold when I got this one. However, I might just have to keep this one and add a big brother to it.

I can't stand the thought of an FI Z06. So hoping that they do in fact change the name if it's SC'd. The C7 is clearly heads and tails above the C6 in putting down power. I'm hoping they keep the same formula with the ZR1 being the only FI car. A SC on a Z07 would only cannibalize sales on the ZR1. All you need to do is pulley it and you have the HP already. Don't see how they fit two SC models and make that work.

And please GM grow a pair and offer a real track version, wings and all. Way over due.

I wonder if this means there may not even be a ZR1 version of the C7? I have not seen any new pics in a while of the upcoming z06/07.

The ZR1? I'm thinking 700hp twin turbo. Yes, I will be getting one to replace my '10 ZR1.

I think it will be N/A not supercharged that is the Z06s claim to fame N/A HP 625 would be nice but I was thinking at least 650HP

maybe they'll have a release like the Camaro..with the FI ZL1 first, then the NA track car, Z28. Nothing says the ZR1 can't be delivered first in the C7.

In Z07 guise (ala CC brakes, mag suspension), it will invariably be faster than our C6 ZR1.

So, then where does that leave the C7 ZR1? As you mentioned, I think it will let it move up market with a dual-clutch, almost all CF, twin turbo V8 to compete and (kick the crap out of), the Ferrari 458 and it's successor, any pending super Gallardo model, any Ford supercar that may come out, the new Viper and any ACR model, 991 GT3, 991 GT3 RS, any 991 GT2 or GT2 RS. Then, on the other front, it will be comfy smooth and very high tech for a very swift daily driver ala 991 Turbo Porsche, etc. Price it around $150k (yes, I know that is a lot of coin, but read all the aforementioned goodies) and I think you'll have a high-end seller. I'd buy one.

For those that don't want to spend that kind of coin, you'll have a major a** kicker C7 Z06 for probably around $105-110k. Everyone else can get a C7 Z51 and still have a world class sports car.
A couple of great posts! Hope your right!

GM has to break the 700hp mark to keep up. The Super Snakes are 660ish I believe not to mention the numerous exotics @700hp.

the Super Snakes don't even come with a factory warranty. I wish people would start posting stupid crap about tuner specials that are modded to within a inch of their lives that will likely blow up within 50k miles. I could make a Civic with 800hp that would last 25-50k street miles. It's worthless in the context of factory street cars that will actually run over 100k miles with minimal maintenance.

The GT500's are 660ish hp and it's a great engine, but you can't compare a Mustang and it's chassis, handling, and braking dynamics to a Corvette. Not even in the same league.

Yep, the 2011 550HP GT500 was outperformed by the 2010 430HP Grand Sport all around, 0-60, 1/4, slalom, top speed, braking, and mileage. Just a big, loud, heavy, rumbly car like the muscle cars of old.

Point being, Mustypoontangs are wasted HP, at least up to 2014...

And yeah, that aftermarket bull$#!t with the Super Snakes, not production cars IMO, no 100K warranty like a ZR-1...

Settle down man!!..I was only pointing out that the SS had 800hp not 660 like the guy posted is all..I know the Mustang won't hang with the Vette on a any road course but I think you're wrong with the engines going boom at 800 hp..I know people that have 1000 hp SS's and they're holding up just fine you can't knock Ford for hitting a home run with their engines the 5.4 was proven bullet proof on the drag strips I know I had a highly modded 07 GT500 and the new 5.8 is doing quite well with mods also...

That's what I meant. Whatever it's called that makes 662hp has to be outdone by GM.

I agree they don't want to make the same mistake as they did with the Viper as every one knows #'s sell....
