I think it will at least equal the performance numbers: not that I care a bunch. I love seeing GM make the breed stronger over time.

When you guys buy a top of the line PC or Mac computer and the next year, an even better and fast computer comes out, is your old one now a POS? No, of course not.

I'm GLAD GM keeps making better Vettes. I bought the best Vette at the time when I got my '10 ZR1 and I still love it. Within 1-3 years, I'll trade this ZR1 on the next best Corvette they have on the market. In the meantime, I still love my current Vette.

People are so stupid when something new comes out and now the prior model is obsolete in their eyes. Most of the time, those same people don't even own the prior model and they won't be able to get the new one either. Pitiful.

The C6 Z06 and C6 ZR1 are both incredible machines. However it can only be reasonably expected that the new Z06 will be faster than both.

GM has pretty much said that this Z06 will be a big improvement over the previous platform.

I feel that driving either model is a win-win.

"“The question isn’t how close we can get to the ZR1,” he says. “It’s how far we can surpass it.”

"Atleast 625hp"

Big words.

I agree. Hold on to your ZR1. Hopefully a C7 ZR1 is being developed.

I, for one, would prefer any ZO6 to have a naturally aspirated V8. There is just something unnatural about a supercharged ZO6...sort of like the Porsche 991 GT3 only being available only with a PDK transmission. Call me a traditionalist I guess....
I dont think a zr1 will beat a c7 z06 in a straight line .Not one with 8 speed automatic.Zr1 is great but c7 z06 is way better.

I hope the C7 beats the ZR1 in both. If not GM is not doing the job.

Each generation should get better than the last. If not, what's the point?

PDK like automatic that shifts faster than the porsche automatic and the following article estimating 625 hp with final tweaks being made.

I bet the final production hp number for the c7 z06 will be more than 638hp once the tweaks are finalized.

It does look like it was designed by the generation that grew up playing with transformers.

I see some inspiration of cadillac in this car.

I like the numbers but man that car is a busy looking cartoon. Final opinion should be based on an in person viewing.

http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...150819467.html

Quote from article --- I thought winglets were items you could get "hot", Medium or mild at hooters.
"But it’s the optional Z07 package where things really come alive: the winglets on the front splitter are enlarged and the rear spoiler arrives with a see"

Guys, we all need to start a collection and pay for Mike to spend a weekend in Vegas with some paid talent. Because he has definitely been missing out.

The 2015 C7 ZO6 ZO7 will make the Viper TA a pillow biter.

and a pulley upgrade and tune normally adds 100 HP to a stock SC engine.

Everyone catch that quote by Tadge?

"We always try to take the previous generation's upper performance models and bring that performance down to the next lower model in the lineup."

IOW, don't view the performance of this car as a C7 ZR-1, because it is a Z06. Reverse engineering that reasoning, that really leaves the door open for a TT C7 ZR-1, IMO.

The look of the widebody is growing on me - really want to see it in other colors.

And yeah, you might want to read the maximum impeller speed on that already hypersonic blower to see how fast it can spin before you start adding a smaller pulley...

Its hard to know how a pulley will effect things. It is a smaller, more efficient blower in the 1700 range. I guess time will tell.

That is what i was thinking, the will already be spinning fast.im not if they will leave lot of room.for bolts on like they did with the LS9? Because right from the start the blower is smaller so im guess no 1000hp bolts on z06? I really think they overbuilt the LS9 on.purpose!

I agree...I think it was a mistake to go with a smaller SC'r on the Z06 there's room for gains but not like on the LS9..now to me it wouldn't matter as I never did or did I intend to mod the ZR1 or won't try to mod the C7 Z06 when I do get one but to the guys that want to mod the new C7 Z06 to get the same results as the LS9 they'll have to change out the 1700 SC'r to a larger one like what's on the LS9..
