Why? Because some people enjoy drag racing and a 16" tire is better than a 17-20" for drag racing.

On a C6Z most people either run a 17" wheels or 15" wheels with LG Drag spindles for drag racing... I don't know of anyone using 16" wheels on our cars...

Absolutely correct.
In addition, spindle and ball joint require modification also.

I’m a first timer on this forum I have a 15” conversion caliper on my z06 already but not a 15” drag spindle. I was wondering what specs exactly are you going to need along with modifications to the spindle to fit a 16” wheel.

sorry to revive an old thread but I’m in the middle of this whole swap and found a killer deal on a set of wheels so I wanna see if it’s worth it or not

Wow, this is going way back.
IIRC, we pressed out the ball joint and took about 1/8" off of the spindle to give the proper clearance to the ball joint.
It was only necessary to hammer and grind the ball joint to work on the C5s but the C6 required much more.

BTW- I was able to use C5Z brakes with the 16" wheels with this mod.
