DIY with Pics.. Fix your door handle that won't open in minutes
I just bought my z06 and was having an issue with my door not opening when I press the button. I had to press it several times before that contacts would recognize and open my door. I read a couple of threads about how people fixed it but didn't see any pictures. I went ahead and fixed it within 5 minutes on each door. I took pictures for the next person as well. Hope this helps!

I appreciate the pics. Haven't tried this yet cuz I was waiting on someone to post a good writeup like this. You should post a link to this on the sticky diy thread and hopefully it will get added. Thx!

Thanks for the DIY write up.
At first I couldn't figure out if there was a battery problem or a part failure.
Followed the directions of the write up and the doors now open like they did when the vehicle was brand new.

Two additional comments.
1. Before removing the electrical connector, clip a clothespin or any other device to the wiring to avoid the connector falling back into the door. One little slip here and the 5 minute job could turn into hours.
2. Leave the door "handle" off and only re-attach the pad. It's a cleaner look, easier to wash/wax, and results in better fuel mileage plus more top speed by reducing weight and aero drag.
OK, laugh, but the look and wash/wax part is still true.

Melting Slicks
I just did mine helped out a lot. I had the half open problem where it opened but it took a little bit more. Now opens fine.
