Somedays it's good to be a cop
As most of you know I have MS and due to my left leg not working right my Z06 sits in the garage under a cover 99% of the time. About twice a month one of my boys will come over and take me for a ride in it to keep it lubed up and the tires from getting flat spots in them. Today my son who is a Phoenix Cop came over and took me for a ride. On the way up the on ramp to the interstate I prodded him by telling him he was driving like a ***** He jumped on it and as soon as we got on the interstate a Highway Patrolman pulled us over. He said he clocked us at 110 mph in a 65. My son gave him his license which was in a billfold that holds his badge. The DPS officer came back to the car and told him that my son owes him and to slow it down. I told him to smoke the tires as we left and he just said Dad shut up and be glad we're not going to jail. Fun drive, good thing I wasn't driving.

I don't get much joy in my life now-a-days and today was one of my good ones. I really doubt if anyone is going to cause problems with cops. Please let me have this one without rainy on my sunny day.

I admire your moxy. I think most people would give it just a bit of extra gas upon takeoff given the situation. Not too much, just a bit!

In other words, be careful to not get your son in trouble. Don't know what the consequences might be if word got back to his superiors.

The get out of jail free card is indeed a nice thing to carry
Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the car with your son. Sorry you're in such a tough situation.

I have a relative who works for the government in a law enforcement capacity, though not your regular police department, something a little more exotic.
He bought a muscle car and was driving on the freeway with his friend who had a Porsche 911 Turbo, they were going fast, and he was pulled over by the local police.
The moment the cop walked up, my relative went through the standard procedure to inform the cop that he had holstered weapon because he was XXXX , and proceeded to provide the relevant identification. The cop looked at his ID and ran the license plate number, then came back and asked him why he was going 120 in a 65 zone.
He explained that he just got this cool muscle car and was having a bit of fun with his friend who has a 911 Turbo.
The cop wanted to know how he did against the Porche; how much horsepower the car had; how heavy it was; if he got wheelspin in first; how it fared against other sports cars. After chatting a bit about cars, the cop told him to slow down and he said that he would try.

He will. He's one of the ones that always gives a warning. Unless the driver mouths off to him, then it's ticket time. What's kind of funny,( he didn't think so), he got a photo radar ticket last month and did traffic school for it. He said he was able to do it on line or it would of really been embarrassing for him. I hate photo radar. Catch me fair and square.

Being one of the guys who most people dread, if I had stopped you we would have chatted about your car and I would have asked you to drive carefully and slow down in my jurisdiction.
