Rockers show no play and are still like new.
I was not interested in having more bronze guides installed so I did not pursue them. These heads, regardless of mileage are out of any implied warranty. . This is no fault of WCCH. Their work is very high quality. They cannot magically fix poor GM head geometry. I cannot complain about my 39X CFM porting work. These heads are beautiful.

Many threads on this, or just the last few days postings.
All years are subject to valve guide wear even in relatively low mileage LS7's. The solution is to have a quality LS machine shop replace the valve guides with ones that are properly machined and aligned with the valve seats. Opinions vary on what valves and springs to use.
I had my heads done before my extended warranty was up. At 46K miles 14 of 16 valve guides were out of GM wear spec.
GM declines to to admit any problem, has covered most failures within warranty, but not very low mile failures out of warranty.
Result of failure is heads break off the valves and eat the head or lunch the block. Big $$ if they fail.

You can expect this. Get it done. No choice. Don't wait. One guy was set to do his in the fall but it didn't make it.

any shops or dealerships you guys have experience with in or near NY?
if i buy a used car that comes with aftermarket warranty (like a short 3-6 month one), can i have these checked under that warranty, and if out of spec, have them rebuilt/fixed?

You can try. A guy recently posted a story about a valve guide claim 1mo. after buying the car. The warranty co. at first denied the claim as a pre existing condition, eventually settled on paying 1/2.
An extended warranty is not the security blanket most people assume. Typically the contract will exclude preexisting conditions and state that repairs will be made using new, rebuilt, or used parts as the adjuster decides. The adjuster will always offer the cheapest way first - used parts, local machine work, reuse as many parts as possible, etc. You can ask for more, and the adjuster can always say no. His primary function is to save the company money, not to fix your car the best way possible.
If the worst happens and you loose a motor, don't expect a new crate motor and the other stuff you get under a GM new powertrain warranty. Rebuilding what is left, or a used takeout motor is about the best you'll get. New oil cooler? lines? fugedaboutit!
Much better to put the cost of an extended warranty toward fixing the problem.
Just my $0.02 from real world experience with this stuff.

I got it when I bought my 2006 a couple of years ago. It had 18K miles on it. So far It has replaced:
water pump
shifter assembly
coolant tank cap
rear sway bar bushings
Clutch Pedal Spring
Differential (this alone would have cost 2X what I paid for warranty)
All new factory parts and no deductible. Just like GMPP.

Mileage - 10,000 when WCCH Stage II heads were installed. TORQUER 110 installed at the same time. 17,200 miles today. (6/23/16) I drive my Z06 about 2,000 miles a year.
Material - My OEM heads with 10,000 miles were replaced with a different set of OEM heads, also with 10,000 miles and only after the OEM heads that I bought as replacements were sent to WCCH for their Stage II package. I never had my originals measured and only bought new heads because I did not want to drop a valve.
Parts - Tumble polished OEM intakes, one piece SS exhaust, bronze guides and BTR dual springs. BSM Performance installed the heads and cam and tuned the car. (561/511)
Car used for - A few spirited drives, three or four weekends a month.
Cam - TORQUER 110
Follow up disassembly and data. - Nothing has been disassembled yet, but cold starts, after the car has been sitting Mo through Fr, blow smoke out the exhaust like a forest fire, all eight of my spark plugs are oily and I am a quart low 1,300 miles into my last oil change. NOT HAPPY. DISGUSTED in fact.
Oil change intervals - . Seven oil changes in seven years. Minimum miles between changes was 600 miles after I got the heads and cam installed, the most was 5,000 after the second heads/cam oil change.
Type of oil - Mobil 1 until the heads/cam install and Redline 5W30 after the heads and cam. Again NOT HAPPY about this.

Around 6k miles or so ago the heads were "fixed" by WCCH. They installed CHE bronze guides, ported them, milled .030", and had done some valve work, SS exhaust valves, springs etc. The car has had no issues. I decided to make some changes and run a bigger cam, swap lifters, and check my valve guides. Max spec is .0037. I pulled a couple springs and checked the one that seemed to move the most. When I measured I found .011" play in an exhaust valve guide. Off the heads went. I didn't bother measuring them all.
CHE bushed rockers
Manley Nextek .700" springs w/Ti retainers
Morel lifters- cannot remember part number
Cam spec: 231/246 .653"/.652" 115+3
The car's current mileage is 13,062.

Linimar is a Canadian company, try a suit in a foreign country when their contract is with GM not you directly - not me.

AHP pkg 4 heads ordered from Kohle. When Rich at Abel Chevrolet receives them they will perform the swap at the end of December.
My 2008 Z06 (7,800 miles) otherwise remains stock. I am not experiencing excessive valve train noise currently, but I chose to replace the heads regardless of how far out of spec they may or may not be.
I will not know how much the guides are warn until Kohle receives my core heads and measures them for me. I'll post results later.
Head swap completed 12/28/16. I will post details when I receive valve/guide measurements off my core heads from Kohl at AHP.

My questions are out of thousands Z06s that were made:
1.how many actually dropped valve?
2.How many actually had valve guide issue?
3. Can you hear a noise that is distinguishable from before or it just drops out of the blue?
4.If it didn't break by 35000 miles, what is the likelihood of it breaking after?
5. Did people drop valve if they never drove it hard?

Not sure about your miles or year but I highly recommend VEHICLE ONE warranty.
I got it when I bought my 2006 a couple of years ago. It had 18K miles on it. So far It has replaced:
water pump
shifter assembly
coolant tank cap
rear sway bar bushings
Clutch Pedal Spring
Differential (this alone would have cost 2X what I paid for warranty)
All new factory parts and no deductible. Just like GMPP.

Where did you sign up for the warranty? was it through GM? how much was it per year?

2. hundreds on this site have had head work done and had valve guides out of spec. GM has even replaced heads under warranty and the new replacement heads were out of GM wear spec. 14 of 16 guides were out of spec on my 09Z with 46K miles
3. GM asserts YES, mine made all the normal noises and nothing unusual
4. surprisingly many have broken under 10K but they have broken over 90K also.
5. some have. I got my Z to use the performance. I'm not an "If I did this, the car could do this" kind of guy, more "My Z did this and I enjoyed doing it" kind of guy.
While I use the performance of my Z I maintain it at a high level as well.
