Default Took my zr1 to the track for the first time.

I took my bolt on zr1 to the track last night. I was fighting my stock clutch all night but even given that the car still did great IMO!

Mods:

-Aftermarket airfilter inside stock cold air box
-Ported throttle body
-Ported snout
-Ported blower
-Pulley (13lbs vs 9lbs stock)
-Injectors
-Headers
-Tuned on e85

All mods and tuning done by Fasterproms in Tampa FL (Jeremy Formato) Huge thanks to them again for always building/supporting my cars!!!

Car makes roughly 660/660 to the tire. I had a full tank of gas and was on my 19" NT05R's. My first two passes I got into it really easy and went back to back 10.90's@137mph (2.0 60'). I could not believe it was running these times without me pushing it at all. As the night went on I tried a few different things (shout out to Jeremy Formato my builder/tuner for track support, and shout out to Will Dugas for texting back and fourth all night helping me out with advice on my clutch/launch/ect). After letting it cool for 45 mins I got back in line and busted out a 10.68@139mph (1.9 60') then hot lapped it and went 10.58@139mph. Clutch issues were getting bad at this point but I kept letting it cool then playing with it more with the launch and slipping it. Ended up going two passes in the 10.40's and also got into the 6's in the 1/8th for the first time. Overall the night was awesome, other than my clutch fighting me the whole time I had a blast and am very happy for my first time out with the car, and to be trapping 137-139 all night. I think if I can get the clutch to hold on the launch I can do a 10.20-10.30 the way it sits right now then it will be time for more power and a clutch! I want to get this thing in the 9's!

Year of the ZR1: 2009
Tires used on the pass: 19" NT05R's
Performance Mods (if any): Ported t/b, snout, blower, pulley, injectors, headers, e85 tune.

Nucking futs! That right there is FAST

Dood, what clutch issues do you have? Doesn't sound like a slippage issue with those times. The GM slave sucks. Inconsistent grab points is my gripe.

Now that's fantastic acceleration and driving for 660/660 to the tire...huge MPH.

Well done!

It's def slipping more than I am slipping it on purpose. Clutch is stock. I never had any issues on my zr1's with the slaves. I'll keep playing with it though and see how long I can make it last or figure out if I need to upgrade it sooner.

Thanks I agree, I think it's great progress for my first time out and with just bolt ons/ported blower.

Absolutely fantastic runs! My older (but probably a little lighter??) Vette makes around the same power and has also run a best of 139+.

The fact you could ET so consistently (within .2-.3 is consistent, IMHO, with a car this fast) is excellent. Good driving!

Will be interested to see what clutch upgrade you end up with... when its finally time. I went with a DYAD and love it.

No changes to the car from last week. Clutch still smoking but also still working so it's all good for now!
