Default Weird rear suspension noise.. need help

I have a weird intermittent noise coming front the rear suspension..

Sometime its sound like knock knock metal sound like a dead link kit..

Sometime the sound remind me the sound when you get some wheel hop on a launch..

Is it possible a dead sway bar link kit at 18 000miles?

What is the common problem with the rear suspension on a ZR1?!

Jack up the rear and look at the bolts holding down the rear sway bar to the rear subframe. They are good at backing out. Hit them with some locktite and torque them back down if that's the case.

You are talking about the bolt who hold the sway bar bushing?

Its done... but the noise its still there...

The noise its there at low speed, under 30mph + little bump on the road + a slightly load of gas pedal..
The sound seems to come from the middle of the floor in the trunk.

The dealer have checked the car this morning... nothing with the rear suspension...
They have ordered 2 rear link kit to begin...

I think its time to check the mount & bushing of the rear drivetrain..

after few research on the board...

the front end link seems to be in fault everytime...

ex:
FYI, don't be fooled by where you think the noise is coming from. Several times on my car it was the front left link that caused the right rear noise. Its an acoustic mind f(&%.

Mine did the same thing, there is a service bulletin for sway bar end links. I had the popping noise coming from behind the passenger seat. I would hear it backing out of the garage or driving in parking lots over small bumps at low speed. GM changed the rear sway bar end links, problem still occurred. Then, they changed the front sway bar end links, noise is gone! Make sure they change all four sway bar end links because the popping noise transmits through the frame rails making it difficult to find. Hope this helps!

Check the front ones also. If they pop it will sound like it is coming from the rear.

etc...

Lay off the crack, it will help!

My car is a Z06 but likewise it drove me nutz. After spending hours underneath the car, as a last resort I changed the 4 swaybar links to steel MOOGS and honestly the difference was astounding. Out of this world quiet.

I even cut the aluminium OEM links to pieces and they looked/felt fine - but they sure were the problem. Best $ change I ever made - and feels like a brand new car. Personally I believe the soft aluminium OEM links stretch a few thou and that is what you hear magnified thru the frame.

And yes they were noisy at your mileage.

Check your rubber muffler bushings. They are rubber and get very soft. Mine would bang up and down during burn outs. I order some new ones and the banging stopped.

I mean rubbing of course. Check for a worn protective sleeve around the hand brake cables. The cables can hit the carrier or your exhaust piping.

Moog makes some great suspension parts. My 90 454 SS truck ,that I have had like forever, needed a new Idler arm. I replaced the wimpy oem unit with a beefy Moog version and voila! The problem was fixed. Even the name on the Moog box was "Problem Solver". Yeah, that name was surely accurate!
