From GM there is three windshields that fit a Z06
1. W/HUD W/Nav
2. W/HUD WO/Nav
3. W/O HUD W/O Nav

There must be some special coating that helps the HUD reflect back but I don't understand the windshields effect on Nav.

Well if you have a car that does not have NAV (OEM or aftermarket) but you wish to install it, does that mean it won't work unless you replace the glass. I think many have installed NAV after the fact and it works.

The HUD windshield does have a film on the lower portion of the windshield to help with the HUD. With that said you can in stall a non HUD windshield into an HUD car and still have no issues reading the HUD (it just wont be as clear or as bright). The Nav windshield has some stuff built into the top of the windshield. So in short if you have nav you will need the nav windshield. If you have HUD you can use a non HUD windshield if you dont mind the readout being a little lighter.

I got a rock chip and wen to a glass shop. They quoted me $400 for non HUD windshield and $700 for HUD windshield. The HUD windshield has a reflective film. I told them to repair the chip LOL. $35
