Let's see if the failure rate is about 1% then the odds for me and my son is 1 out 100*100*100 or 1 in 1,000,000. I guess we're special and should bet on the lottery.

Having read every LS7 dropped valve thread and reply, I can say one thing; too many folks on CF post to hear themselves. If you want the absolute fix, go AHP, with MS90 guides, and stud mounted roller rockers. The issue on side loading, with the subsequent wear on guides and valve stems from this issue will disappear like a fart in the wind. For my money read Hib Halverson's article over on the Corvette Action Center, "the mystique of the 7 liter ls7....", paying careful attention to his comments on the head fix pages (~ p18 to p21).
It'll certainly save you a ton of time over reading the thousands of well meaning but often blabber-mouthed replies. Speaking of 5 to 10%; that's how many replies there should have been, not the 8000 to 9000 (maybe 10K?) that there were, which if you wanted to read them all ,well it took several weeks.Wow do CF members ever like to hear themselves talk. And now I've added another useless post.
Flame-on now..

Oh I agree thst we deserve some compensation, the stud mounted roller rockers are costng me 2200$ - on top of the stage 4 heads with ms90 guides!

An American Heritage stage 4 setup from Kohle, LS7 CNC ported heads, MS-90 guides with their highest rpm cam; stud mounted roller rockers, a ported TB, and an MSD intake as well as larger injectors to feed the beast.
Here in Tulsa, my builder will add a 3.90 differential from RPM ; as well as dynoing the whole setup with 91? and for sure: 93 and e70. That setup with the differential will have the extra power as well as the 3.90 differential will make the car come off the line like my '15 Z/28 which is a monster off the line with the OEM LS7. It never fails to amaze folks, and you wouldn't believe all the comments I get on the Z/28; seriously every time I'm out someone says something about my Z/28 to me. most popular- "I've never seen one in person, only in a magazine".
On my heads the machining to use stud mounted roller rockers is the extra $$$ expense that I decided to take-removing any chance of valve stem side loading, hence giving you bulletproof valve stem-valve guide alignment and head performance. I'm using the Moldstar 90 guides (which come from F1) as they work harden over time, not work soften as does everything else used for LS7 guide.
Its a little more when you're doing the build, but in the end, I'll have years of service that is worry free.

ahh! sorry ->Crower Roller Rockers, before the E70 setup, its set for 630 RWHP minimum, I'm hoping the E70 pushes it to 650 to 660 RWHP; or ~750-760 ish at the crank. I'm using long tube headers too. I'll be looking for the new ZR1 I saw two weeks ago at the Tulsa 91st street cruise-in.With that 3.90 differential ;I'm going to destroy him.

I haven’t read through the whole thread but could somebody update us on what the latest status is with the class action law suit? Is there a way that we can join the suit to help put more pressure on GM? We should try to push them as hard as possible, it would be amazing if the warrantes were extended on all z06s to 10 years or something.

LS7 Class Action STATUS
Who is the lead LS7 Class Action attorney? And where can I email them?
My 2006 Z06 LS7 had documented excessive valve guide wear requiring valve head replacement... and diminished value on resale because of the LS7 valve issue...

Thanks!
I emailed them my LS7 valve incessant TICKING and replacement experience / invoice. Hopefully it helps.
GM's failure to stand behind their products lost me, my family, friends, and clients as customer for life. Dumb short sided thinking.

I think there is little question as to whether way over 10% are out of tolerance. If anyone disagrees, there is actually data on this if you search the forum. But the vast majority seem to function just fine anyway. So the design seems to be robust and tolerant of this situation, most of the time. At least that is my opinion, based on what I've read.
Are you employed at GM by chance?
