C6 z06 clutch noise help please!!!!
Hello everyone. I bought my 09 c6z 2 Months ago it's has 35k miles. its making a knock noise. every time I pull it out of gear l And release the clutch. It only knocks when pulled out of gear into neutral is this a comon problem ? obviously it's something to do with the clutch. but the vehicle runs fine except for some bouncing between shifts. don't think its my driving I had many manual vehicles so. if anybody has this same problem or knows about the problem please help thanks have a nice day

Do you have a stock or aftermarket clutch?
Does the knock only occur when say you are at a stop light and you pull out of gear and your foot is off clutch pedal? If this is true and you do have an aftermarket clutch you have one with a light flywheel and they are known to "chatter" at a stop light with your foot off clutch pedal.

Your description of a "knock" bothers me, never heard the term related to clutches et al.
Any code(s)??
Any parts store will have an OBDII reader, will plug-in & tell you if there're any registered.
IF there is it may very likely lead you to the issue. Nothing to lose.
Otherwise it's off to the dealer. G/L

Drivetrain on these cars tend to be quite noisy. I'd also Look into faulty hydraulics. GM put out a voluntary recall on the Clutch Master Cylinder late last year.

Would a failing torque tube bearing cause a clutch to clunk?
JMHO but this needs to be looked at by a Corvette pro. 'Clunk' has to be duplicated for a tech, once isolated which way to aim is known & can be dealt with.
G/L man, take it to a good indy shop ideally specializing in Corvettes & specifically C6. Have to learn for sure source of this clunk or you'll be left chasing rabbits down holes time-wise & dropping $ at every step along the way. Someone can/has to properly diagnose this up front & personal.

Aftermarket clutch on mine. LS9 clutch and aluminum flywheel. I started it up the other day and it made zero noise on cold start. After driving it around, get back and let it idle in the garage I could very faintly make it out. Put my head on the ground and tried to listen for it under the car and couldn't hear anything.
