Default Katech Street Attack Z06 SN#14 gets some updates. Direct A-B test of WCCH heads

I was very surprised how much just the heads did on this package. Clearly that was the last thing this car needed to wake it up. Torquer 110 cam We also did the guides and Katech Ti/Mo intake/OEM exhaust valves.

I'm finally moving up from the 110 fist gen cam to the K501 this time.

So this car already had the cam, you just freshened the heads? How were the guides on the old heads if this was the case?

Yes. We don't have guide measurements yet because we have a rotating exchange program, but as soon as the old heads get done I'll post in this thread.

Wow that torquer really held its power up top!!!....what all is done to the car?....it seems a little lower in torque compared to most other torquer graphs I've seen....but the HP looks a lot better then others I've seen.

Big to Katech for getting the car in and out quickly and being easy to work with. The one thing that stood out the most on the drive home was how much quieter the engine was! Oh, and...yeah...the car breathes a little better now.

I'm very interested to see what the guide wear is on my old heads.

Mods are exactly as Jason listed above. Halltech intake is the CF112 with the CF shroud and the FAST intake manifold is unported and the Kooks headers have a catted X-Pipe for what it's worth.

Because each dyno will read (much) differently, I don't get too caught up in the numbers game. But looking at what other Katech cars have put down on the same dyno, the torque is right on the money.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the way the car turned out especially now that I have the peace of mind knowing the heads were addressed.

That must be a mistake....all those guides are not out of spec. Should have blown up twice by now.

Nice gains, I just swapped to the wcch stage 2 heads on my camaro which already had the torquer 110. Z06 gets the heads/cam next...

Did the head swap require updated tuning to get those gains or was that with the previous tune? Thx.

Good to see a set of heads well in spec for a change. Interesting they showed the same trend as mine with the intake guide top out more and the exhaust guide bottom out more, although all but two intakes on mine were well out of spec at 46K miles.

Worn guides can go to a 100,000, it does not mean failure is imminent.

But refusing to pay attention to actual specifications and putting your head in the sand with facetious replies, helps no one here.

We checked the tune on the chassis dyno and updated. We tuned it before though so all the gains are from the heads. There was no funny business with the tune.

Guide clearances may be "in spec", but I can clearly see a pattern that would indicate seat runout. That obviously assumes the person who took the measurements has a steady hand. Readings in the ten's can be a bit tricky.

Jason - I'm going to assume the ported heads required a slight MAF transfer tweak, but AFR/PE targets remained the same? 28hp gain is substantial. More than I would have thought from just port work on these heads.
