Default Help! New rebuilt heads difference!

So I am about to pull my old heads off when I notice that my coolant crossover pipe is mounted flat on old heads and my new AI heads the same crossover bolts on at a 45 degree angle and you can't bend the old pipe to make it fit to bolt on.. anyone have a part# ... anyone know are these older or newer LS7 heads than my 2008 original ones ???

Thanks!

All the factory OEM LS7 heads should be the same. Maybe what you are looking to swap are not reworked OEM?

They look to be the same. Reference the alignment of the head bolt next to the flange and you'll see the angle is the same on both heads.

Crap maybe because on the workbench they are not angled on the engine block.. I hope I didn't have a brain fart at my age!! I can see now Minkster when you put the old head on the work bench the angle will be the same as the new ones. Dammmmm to damm tired lately!!! Thanks!

looks the same to me maybe you are looking at it at a different angle. One head is flat on the work bench and the other one is at a different angle because its on the block. They should be the same.

No worries, easy to make that mistake when you're tired or stressed.

Lay heads flat on the bench. With the intake ports facing to the right, Jack up the right side of the workbench approximately 3"
Angle of the crossover passages should be about equal now.

Sorry, stuff will want to roll to the left end of the bench from now on.
Maybe someone will have a fix for that

Peanut gallery waxers its time for bed.. you had your tiny moment of "attempt" at humour which was ahemmm.. a joke but not the HA HA type of joke..

You know.. some people just don't get when a joke is over and everyone has left the party and you end up telling jokes to your drunken self with no one left in the room to laugh but you're too hammered to notice..... payback's a bitch kids.

Delete thread mods please.

Much thanks OP

Don't forget to check the muffler bearings while you got it apart.

The people that were not helpful but making sarcastic jokes have been reported. Even after I asked to stop.

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Seriously man.. Grow up. This wasn't a jab on the part of anyone. We all are human and we all make mistakes. Ive never seen someone get so bent out of shape over something that could have happened to anyone. I honestly made my post because I myself have done similar things. I have even been known to look for cell phone while talking on it and telling the person I'm talking to about how I cannot find it.

I like how you point the finger at newbs when you are the one who couldn't rotate the head in your mind.

Then you attack me in PM's. How childish.

I hope this was an overreaction to nothing or a misunderstanding.
