B&B Gen 3 Fusion z06 exhaust
After owning my car 6 years, finally broke down and did an exhaust. So far so good. Louder than expected, but sound is good. Fairly mild with valves closed, and nasty with them open.
Fit/finish was perfect.

I'm glad you joined me with the Fusion III Extremes. I do a fair amount of highway cruising so having the valves closed makes it pleasant. Around town or at the track, I let them rip.

I was at CPR getting annoyed at Hooker since it had been 2+ months for the other system, and he showed me your car. So that made me order this.

From Jason's post, Joe is doing a few of these.

No they are still a performance exhaust with the valves closed. There is a modest hum in the 1200-1800 rpm range but not anything offensive at 60-80 MPH in 6th cruising. Outside that range they sound very nice, but not loud. They do drone in the normal range with the valves open, but around town driving and performance driving they are great. The first day out I had a motorcycle pull hard out of a roundabout. I caught him and at the next light he gave me a big thumbs up, probably as much for the sound as for the go.
My car has full HCIE work including headers and catted x-pipe in front of the B&B Fusion Extremes.

honestly my npp is pretty annoying at 1500 in 6th gear even closed. I have texas speed headers and x pipe though and no cats. these probably wouldn't bother me.

Louder and stupid loud is how I would describe it. Closed is still decent, better than any other exhaust I've heard. Much better sounding IMO than corsa/akro/etc that I've heard. Open it is really loud/racey. Then again, headers and the rest of the setup effect noise.

Something tells me I may be buying new.
Thanks for the lead. I really wouldn't be shopping for the Gen 3 but my standard fusion likely isn't going to flow enough according to Mike Boat.
Any chance you have a video with the valves closed going to open?

I don't have one but may be able to get one the end of this week. recent HCIE work done at CPR, previously all stock.

Sounds real nice! I'm eventually getting the heads done, intake, cam and headers. Would keeping the stock axle back exhaust on my 2013 Z restrit airflow/power with the other mods? I think the ZO6 switched to ZR1 exhaust around 2010.
Thanks, Jesse

It will restrict some power from your build. How aggressive you get will determine how much power it will cost you.

I run and have run this exhaust since it came out. I like it a lot. I didn't see any restriction at 850whp with the loud side.

My car made 1200rwhp on stock mufflers. A normal fusion or stock is not a restriction. I know two people making 1400+ on stock mufflers. Do them for sound and looks not for power. I can try to take a video tonight of mufflers switching.
